Yep also have spoken to them and they said due to the high demand they are working through orders one by one and the order is not confirmed until they have spoken to the person. Toyota then have to then order the car themselves internally.
Just stop engaging with the guy. He has an opinion and likes to shout about it. Time will tell who's right or wrong and we will all get nice shiny GR86's to drive (y)
I did build a car using the online configurator and save the configuration to my account. I've just logged in and I'm still able to go through the checkout process and pay the 250 reservation fee for a cash purchase. No option for finance but seems I could place an order.
