Just buying the brackets will certainly be cheaper than the glass. I’ve not fit the wing or brackets yet but it looks an easy job to do.
The design of the brackets are that they’re sprung and spread the load across 3 x contact points on the glass (displaces & cushions any excessive downforce)...

That’s quite interesting, do you have a part number for the product you ordered? The brackets I received have glue/bonding tabs with 3 x peelable points of contact. Not fitted mine yet though
With you having already upgraded the catalytic converter & OPF/GPF replacement down pipe, you have already removed the performance restriction if you decide to tune the ECU (or not).
The combination of your stock exhaust & the modifications you have already done (cat & down pipe) is flowing...
I ordered the wing on 17 December, received it 9th February. The brackets were unknown territory for everyone involved (glass/part numbers etc). I’d think that if you ordered the wing, the brackets would just come with it as a complete package (if ordering via Whifbitz).
I’m really looking...
Some people say it’s pretty sturdy without the brackets but for me, I would prefer to fit them. If that’s how Toyota designed it, I can’t really argue with that. It’s a functional aerodynamic piece & the brackets are there for the ability to generate downforce
There wasn’t any from briefly looking inside the box. The wing itself is fully assembled & I’m confident that it will be self explanatory when it comes to fitting it. I’ll get some pictures uploaded tomorrow with the mounting points & @Z77 more information on the screws. The screws were in the...
I thought about this as an option a while ago but ended up getting a Fujitsubo GPF back system. Not badly priced & not much louder than stock when inside the car. The build quality is great & the tail pipes fill out the visual aspect.
The OEM exhaust’s small mid silencer is a volume control, I...
The box my wing came in has one part number, I’ll post it here tomorrow. It came fully assembled other than 4 x screws that were in a small bag. The wing looks as though it can be built up using individual part numbers (like the post above) but a fully assembled wing looks to come under its own...
… and to add to the above, these engines specifically need LSPI oil. It’s designed is to prevent oil (fuel contaminated or not) that’s passing the rings igniting. How do your spark plugs look?
An un-warmed engine with catalyst enrichment and a rising oil level is telling me that borewash is occurring. 0W-20 is thin anyway, diluted with fuel rings alarm bells for me. Due to your driving habits, I’d be changing the oil more frequently than the schedule dictates if longevity is the...
It would be a sight to behold if you tried to fit/insert your Great Dane into the GR though. Sat in the passenger seat with a helmet on, the dog would probably require a seat lowering kit.
Anything under ET30 on a 8.5J wheel is going beyond function & into stance territory. Yes, it will look great under ET30 but you will certainly loose what the GRY is ultimately about in regard to handling for sure. Radius scrub, rubbing & overall handling is at risk here.
Hoping to do my OEM Enkie’s in Porsche Weiss Gold. They should look smart on my Scarlet Flare but I’m not so sure on white bodywork, especially with the dark accents (wing/mirrors/roof).
The imola bronze on @Omen ‘s post or a dark, smoky gunmetal variant is a winner on white
Paul at Whifbitz says he has ordered a bunch of the brackets/plates from Japan. He did say however the Gen2 & Aero window is the same part number. You may have been disappointed had the window you bought arrived. I’d be surprised that the windows arrive with the brackets as they have a separate...
