the thermostat doesn't completely block the flow, there's a small stream of hot engine oil always flowing through the system for that exact reason so when does open its not shock to engine yes better to remove and block air flow in winter and then get max benefit in hotter conditions

Wrap tape around steel braid stop it fraying when cutting and then use grease when pushing hoses onto fittings and good luck with that as not easy id normally remove the thermostat to maximise flow but up to you v rewarding once all done though

....its not actually fake noise its the same ambient noise being created by your vehicle just piped back at you out of phase in an attempt to cancel it out

the image is trying to imply its clutch OR brake but most think means both, just needs one pedal depressed I've never ever started an ICE without depressing the clutch as it take good amount of weight off the starter motor not having to spin up gear box cogs in cold oil
