GR Yaris To Carbon roof removal or Not

The IDEAL roof for me is the GRMN version. Looks amazing in the videos I've seen. It matches the carbon bonnet and wing. I'd imagine such a modification would be prohibitively expensive to the base model so the GRMN version will remain on the lottery win list for me.

GR Yaris To Carbon roof removal or Not

This is exactly my concern about removing the wrap. FWIW I think it looks better without the wrap but I remember reading early on that the wrap was a cheaper way or protecting the roof from UV than other alternatives. Anybody removing the wrap and not adequately protecting their roof could have...

GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

These big order books for various models across manufactuers are almost certainly inflated. Having a big long waiting list of customers may feel like success and stability (everything coming out of the factory will sell instantly) but customers are getting wise to the long order times and...

    WRC 2023

The most interesting move will be where Tanak ends up. Lots of M-Sport rumours but I think it maybe wishful thinking. M-Sport do have a fast car but their luck is terrible and the drivers are not in that World Championship winner category. Another year where Toyota sweeps the board? Most likely IMO.

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

When I got mine the first time I really understood just how good with AWD system was was when I took it out in torrential rain for a drive. The grip in adverse weather is unreal.

GR Yaris Power to weight, a perspective

Like I said not perfect. Trying to get like for like weight stats is a pain but yes I’d say current fiesta st is around 60-80kg lighter than the GRY. For me the interesting numbers when I did this were the comparisons to those with more power and just how much more weight they have, especially...

GR Yaris Power to weight, a perspective

I remember doing something similar when the spec came out. My table of hot hatches (below). Some models/weights may not be exactly on the money but for power to weight it's a good few hundred KG lighter than everything around it. Car Power (BHP) Weight (KG) P/W Ratio 0-60 Weight Difference...

    Electric Cars

And thats before you factor in the Tax. Once EVs become mainstream some form of road charging will come in to make up the lost Fuel Duty+VAT revenue I fully expect BEVs will be more expensive to run than ICE vehicles.

GR Yaris Random low tyre pressure warning light on rear tyres

I had this last winter and again on cold days recently. Tyres are down a few PSI vs default and the alarm comes on, when the tyres heat up the alarm usually goes off. I’ve put a few more PSI in the tyres and that solved it. I’ll adjust it down again when it warms up.

GR Yaris 👎 Negatives - what annoys, disappoints, puzzles and generally irks you about the GR Yaris?

I turn it off every time I get in. I think it maybe related to the clutch bite point but I've stalled too many times using it. Not had such problems in Fords I've driven recently like the Puma ST where it works perfectly well with a manual powertrain.

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Yes it's not mind blowing but it's one of those annoying niggles about the car I wanted to improve. I'm not constantly bending forward every time I pull out of junctions now. I'm also thinking of either replacing the seats or getting a lowering kit so I'd expect the vision to improve further...

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

FItted the Tegiwa Mirror Riser. Instantly improved the driving experience. Still not as good vision as other cars but way better than the original position.

    GR Yaris Bloody car parks!

If I have to park near other cars I check for child seats in the cars next to me 🚩🚩🚩

    GR Yaris Bloody car parks!

Garages pay for themselves in terms of damage & wear and tear. Well worth it, even if you have to rent imo. I don't live in a "rough" area and yet I've still seen cars parked outside key'd, scapped, even one idiot drove into the row of parked cars outside and flipped their Dacia across the road...

    Electric Cars

Once the tax breaks go and road charging is introduced to replace the lost fuel duty I do wonder how the population will feel about being forced out of their cheap ICE cars into much more expensive BEV vehicles. Good thing the cost of living is so low and wages outstrip inflation…

GR Yaris GR Yaris and the owners age

I'm 37, I was 36 when I picked up the car. I think part of the average age being relatively high is anyone under 40 is not likely to remember when Rally and Rally homologation specials were a thing. Rally isn't as big as it was 20 years ago so even with the other factors "homologation special"...

GR Yaris First Experience of Auto Braking (PCS) 😱

These aids do annoy me, lane keep assist is a particular hate of mine. But at the same time I have lost count of the number of times I've seen cars over the middle line when coming around a bend so keeping in lane and braking in time are clearly a problem for some drivers. Generally I'd say...

GR Yaris What did your dealership do for you, when you picked up your car

Car was washed but had barely any fuel in it. No walk arounds/chat about the car but tbh I knew more about it than the sales staff when I'd been there prevoiusly so it would have been a waste of both our times if they had. Simple form filling & documentation before i got the keys and left. Only...

GR Yaris Dealer Service - Oil Query

I used this oil for my service. I took it along and then asked the tech to show me the bottle before they did the service. When it said SN+ on the label I asked him to put my oil in instead and they did. There was an EXTENSIVE thread on this topic in the other GRY forum. I'm surpirsed they...

    GR Yaris Servicing

No, they had no problem with using my oil. I also had the diff oils changed (using their oils as they had the correct grade) at the same time which was pretty straight forward. It was Steven Eagell in Chelmsford. I think they’ve a few GRY owners going there so they know the car. Even understood...
