Think they are disconnected when there is a service update applied in the dealership, perhaps not reconnected after.

Amazing the ECU doesn't throw an engine check light when it fails to detect the fan being connected.

Yes. Also weird that it doesnt have coolant recirc when hot after shutdown even though it has 300kg battery

Was out for a drive the other day, first warm day of the year. Did sit in some traffic, and went quite hard on throttle when I got to a roundabout exit, and it just didn't pull very hard at all.
Found this thread, went out and checked... Yep, fan unplugged... What?!

Interestingly we experienced exactly the same last weekend stuck on M6/M5. Had to constantly turn engine off. Checked this forum and saw the replies about fan disconnected and low and behold mine was too. Plugged back in this morning. Strange.

Check your fans after the dealer visits,
Why? When ECU upgrades are performed,the fans and headlights stay on,so they unplug the fans and put a torch over the light sensor..they then forget to reconnect the fans..

Just had the same problem, one day after servicing. Wouldnt have found the cause this fast without this thread. Thank you
