GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Took it for a dawn raid to go a mountain with some friends, scout some others, go back to Cross Foxes for a good Sunday dinner, then saw family and more friends on the way back.

Car was pretty good all trip and I do forget how sharply it can corner over the Swift so does take some getting used to. Dog prefers it too. Did it quite a bit quicker than I do normally in the Swift but was lucky with traffic, only having to pass one car in 103 miles Only issue was when I was putting it in the garage I noticed the clutch pedal is quite squeaky/creaky. Didn't have time to fully diagnose as we got back late but thinking some lithium grease on that spring will sort it.

Drove it work yesterday and noticed when i went to get my stuff out the boot one of the number plate lights was hanging down. On closer inspection it looks like the clip had snapped. Most annoying. Anyone else had this. No idea how it could have happened.

Never had that or heard of it before, I would go over the rear closely, someone may have bumped into you at some stage.

I have read about it before and it seems to be always on the right side. Is this also true for you?

If you car is still within the warranty, have it fixed because it will very likely happen again...

Yes, right hand one.

Mark (i think its Mark?) has managed to sort the throttle mapping apparently and was very positive about what he achieved, I was told it was a UK car with only a cat back.

Said between 250-260hp which I was quite surprised at, not seen the dyno results.

So really great news, I cant be the only one that was waiting for Abbey to sort the throttle response - Its half of why I want a remap in the first place.

Off came the (Summer) Bola FLE wheels and on went the OEM wheels in Black Copper. Undecided as to whether I’ll try and sell the Bola ones, or change up the colour on them for next year đŸ¤”. Funny how small the OEM set looks on the car compared to the wider and more offset Bolas, it's like I've fitted 17" wheels!

Taking a cue from Sonic, I decided to spruce up the engine bay a bit, put all the bits back in today :)
Looking good! Did you spray/hand paint the yellow caps and dipstick yourself?
Next weekend, for that bit of bling, you can 'Polytrol' all the hoses, pipes and plastics ... not forgetting to WD40/GT85 the green OEM gunk off every surface and piece of equipment. ;)
Other jobs for a nice day may include: polishing the top surface of the metal under trays, lower engine parts and transmission tunnel. Shining up the ECU holder, brushing every connector with WD40/GT85, buffing the wheel arch liners, cleaning the firewall and battery compartment and wiping the fan blades ... I could go on, but that'd be too sad

I did the spraying myself using plasti-dip and primer, because I thought they would allow some movement and the lids were a bit rubber like.
