GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Did you glue the brackets with the tape that came with the set or did you also use polyurethane glue for car windows?
I just used the adhesive pads already attached to the brackets. The adhesive part of the brackets only serve the purpose of locating the brackets against the glass for when attaching the nuts. It act as a gasket between the steel & glass mainly.

This is because there is inbuilt maneuverability for fine tuning the final position (bracket mounting hole in the wing is 10mm & threaded part of the bracket is 6mm).

The bracket adhesive offers no real structural bonding strength as the forces are pushing the brackets towards the window (not pulling away).

The only thing you need to get that isn’t included are 2 x 6mm nuts & locking/serated washers to fix the brackets to the wing

Hope this helps

Was the tape that came with the bracket sufficient, or did you also use a larger tape?

I apologize for being so persistent, but I'm picking up the brackets tomorrow and I'd like to finally install the wing (it's been sitting in the garage for a month).

It was sufficient. No need for any other tape. It will become apparent when you are installing the wing. Just get the M6 nuts & washers and you’ll be fine 😊

Sorry if this has been answered else where, but what is the approx total cost for all the parts needed for the Aero rear wing?

Paid it a visit, still sans some bits.

End of the month, apparently.

Might take advantage of the easy access to remove the old horn...

How much was the wing itself, cheapest i see is 5000 eur, without markup through official channels. I wonder how some get it for 1700 pound or eur.
@Armijs & @RallyRob

Going through official channels is the issue regarding the cost. You need to find a company who imports straight from Japan. I think Garage Whifbitz might be worth a shot. They sell it as a kit with everything required.

I love how the wing looks, but I’m trying to understand if it actually makes sense performance-wise on its own. My very basic “F1 brain” says aero parts should work together, not just be slapped on randomly.

I’ve seen people mention that the front of the GRY gets a bit light at higher speeds and that adding a front lip helps balance things out. So now I’m wondering… does putting just the wing mess with the balance at speed?

Anyone here running the wing only – do you actually feel any difference in stability or is it mostly for looks?

I also installed a front splitter; I know it's necessary. On the 911 Turbo S, the rear spoiler extends at higher speeds, and the splitter extends under the front of the car. I also installed different grilles to better protect the radiators.

When buying in Japan, for example, as I did, the cost of the rear wing, including shipping costs to Poland and fees (customs duty + VAT) is approximately 2500 EUR.

Nice, looks like a solid setup (y)

Did you also go for the underbody aero bits?

Have you had a chance to properly test it? Any noticeable difference in stability or feel?

Mine's due an MOT and I discovered one of the fog lamps is out. Cue wondering how much an integrated light costs, thinking about the effort of getting parts from a dealer, worrying that it could be related to the wiring for my light bar...

Thought I should at least diagnose the problem before I pay to foist it on someone else - I know my way around a multimeter. So I peel back the front wheel lining only to discover that, whenever it last had the bumper off, they forgot to plug it back in.

Ah, you gits. But at least it was the cheapest and fastest possible fix.

Apparently the aero package as a whole gains a second at suzuka it was mentioned in some Japanese youtube video. But that's a long fast circuit. It's interesting to see why they chose not to use the gr parts style protruding front splitter and instead create the air dam solution. Marketing material talks about balance and efficiency. Then they ended up using the gr parts front splitter on the morizo rr that has its own wing. My guess is the air dam solution works better on circuits where you're always on flat ground and pointed straight? Plus from a sales point they can't offer the same items that might seem boring or lazy. Considering you're only getting a bit of reduction in front end lift from the vented hood and the suspension tuning is the same as for the base car I'd say the difference is minimal and only noticeable at over 150kph for the spoiler anyway.

I originally optioned my car without the gr aero parts (not the aero performance package) and have added them on but I changed tyres at the same time so it's almost impossible to feel the difference and have a fair comparison. Mechanical grip does almost all of the work sub 150kph.

CAE shifter, ENDLESS CC-Rg, fluid and brake +clutch lines going in today. Including a change to the Toyota gr yaris endurance 0w-20 oil. Changing all fluids. Plus an alignment on stock suspension until I decide what aftermarket kit to go with. It would have to be something rally tarmac focused rather than circuit. Endless handbrake shoes will be going in soon too.

As you are Japan based and if you don't want to go for full on Reiger expense for a damper. Check if Cusco Type-G Tarmac for a Gen2 (I believe fitment differs from Gen1 to Gen2.
