Isn't forged Pistons+rods mandatory at this power level? How do you intend to keep everything in one piece? (Not only the engine but the transmission too!)
Asking with genuine interest because I'd like to build mine similarly. Cheers.
This is super useful, thank you.
One more question. I'm guessing you put the ethanol first, then pump the gas to get a more uniform mixture? Or do you have to mix it in a separate container and then pump the mix into the tank?
I don't really like the idea of playing around with two highly...
Sorry for reviving an old thread with what is probably a silly question but...is it possible to mix your own e85 by adding odorless fireplace ethanol and 98ron pump fuel in the right proportions?
e85 is very hard to come by where I live.
To be fair a big part of that is the ECU- a Syvecs will set you back 6500€.
Forged pistons & rods are around 3.5k. Closed deck insert is another grand. Cams & springs another grand and a half, and we're still missing IC, exhaust, additional oil coler, etc.
For me the Eventuri is the biggest...
Feel free to post your Dyno sheet and prove me wrong lol.
I am really sorry that this happened to you, but if your engine didn't randomly blew within the first 3000km I highly doubt that Toyota is the one to blame here. Manufacturing errors with such catastrophic results manifest very early.
How can it be Toyota's fault lol. There's a reason these cars come with a 15 year warranty.
It's 100% a bad tune. And I'm 90% sure it was caused by too much torque at too low RPM.
Most "tuners" I've seen will give you more horsepower by increasing the torque to +500N/m at 3000rpm or something...
How are y'all's transmissions holding on with the Cusco hubs? I'd like to build my engine in the future and I'm trying to manage expectations.
Aside from the clutch and the gearbox how durable is the transfer and the ITCC?
I think I'm going to spend a bit more and get some DNA adjustable top mounts for the stock suspension instead of f*#@ng around with camber bolts.
Any recommendations to adjust the rear suspension? Something more serious and "definitive" than camber bolts if possible.
Yeah but I was hoping some degree of adjustability would be possible on the rear...somehow.
I'll run this setup for a couple of months and if I'm not convinced I'll fit two 90105-17015 bolts on each corner to get even more camber front.
