Clearly I need to do better with 27mpgImpressive!
After the brim to brim fill up I can report the B-road blasting resulted in.. 37.4mpg - making this pretty much the first car I've had that used less fuel the more fun I had![]()
I have a grey GR too. Where can I find that advice on avoiding scratching? The neighbours will be starting a building project sometime this year and it's bound to generate beaucoup de dust. Not this weekend but last weekend, had a brick dust cleaning nightmare.
Idiot builder fixing next doors porch was grinding bricks in their driveway. Before I knew it the whole car was covered in brick dust
Moved the car to a safe distance and narrowly avoided murdering the now nervous apologetic builder - “sorry mate do you want me to hose it down?” - then spent the next 3 hrs cleaning it.

Kudos to @Philevo6 for his advice on avoiding scratching the car while decontaminating it - although I think I used about 3 litres of CarPro reset in the end lol
After pics for attention:

I've had that issue at Bedford, super frustrating. What's the point of a track day if you can't safely enjoy/explore the car?Track day at Bedford Autodrome on Monday. Unfortunately was told to stop drifting by 10am
I have eco tyres on my otherwise stock car, and I know some people have complained about understeer on track. What I am consistently finding though, is there is plenty enough torque and grip to turn in on the brakes and rotate the car on the throttle in the corner. It just means that there is a non-zero probability of a slide at some point

Its quiet straight forward, if you search on eBay for GR86 headlight protection film, it from Pre-cut PPF and Tints, costs £19.99 they are already cut to size so no trimming required. Have a search on you tube and there plenty of tutorials but this one explains it well:
You just need a spray bottle, microfibre cloth, a squeegee and a slip solution which you make from distilled water and a few drops of baby shampoo.
Took me about 20 mins in all as the lights are fairly flat, you don't need the tac solution as its just used to stick areas where its tricky to smooth the film over sharp corners and there none on the GR86 headlights
At the end of the day you may as well have a go, if it all goes wrong and you end up taking it off all its cost you is £20 and 20 minutes
The kit is sitting waiting to be fitted this weekend. Doesn't look difficult for £20 and some patience with the correct tools and approach.Asked an Xpel outlet for a quote on headlights protection - it was £83.34+VAT!! I also enquired about bonnet only - £270+VAT!! I'll be ordering ready-cut from the Internet and probably leave the bonnet to fend for itself.
My headlights were £80 inc from an accredited Xpel installer. That price for the bonnet is actuall quite good believe it or not! Quotes from an accredited installer in East Anglia were £395+vat for just the bonnet itself, plus an extra £450+vat for the front bumper area (versus £415+vat locally). I've had quite an extensive fit but, not complete: the only panels that I don't have PPF on are the doors and the back end (apart from the rear arch area).Asked an Xpel outlet for a quote on headlights protection - it was £83.34+VAT!! Mmm... my quote for front bumper area was £270+VAT, same as for bonnet. I've ordered the headlight kit from eBay anyway and will give it a go when conditions are OK (have to do it outside). As well as the obvious no wind or rain, does anyone know if there's a minimum temperature below which it would be unwise to fit? I suppose it would be a good idea to avoid full sun too, but that shouldn't be a problem for a while! My headlights were £80 inc from an accredited Xpel installer.
