After some chat about GR86 exhausts in the forum and a quick look at the weather forecast, an impromptu meet is to take place on 12 noon, Tuesday 26th December (Boxing Day) at The Steading, (Hillend) Edinburgh, EH10 7DU (A702 near the dry ski slope). The steadings has its own car park too.
Itinerary is basically say hello, chat over a coffee, listen to some exhausts and go home happy. The meet is not intended to be a long one, maybe an hour/hour and a half (depending on how long you keep talking) so you’ll still make tea with the family.
If you have a spare slot in your diary, or just want to escape the Christmas madness, please feel free to pop along!

I'm in Edinburgh for Christmas, spreading my mother-in-law's ashes near North Queensferry on boxing day, but will try to make it if there's time as I'd love to see (and hear) more GR86s.
 
Great idea Sonic, unfortunately family commitments at the Panto at the Kings means I‘m unable to join you. Have fun; hopefully join next time.

If I thought I could get away with it I'd 'pop up' from London 😉 But I can't so I'll wish you a very Merry Christmas and be jealous of a Boxing Day meet 🤗🎄 Have fun ☃️🎅
 
Contrary to comments in PM, I now hope to make it to this.

My plan is to get up early for a scoot through S. Lanarkshire, down to Moffat, then up into the Borders before ending up at the meet at 12. Roads should be nice and quiet and weather good, so a chance try the new tyres properly.

That would be brilliant - nice one matey. Drive safely on the new tyes, ya don't wanna end up like that demo car now eh? See you at 12 noon inshallah.
 
For those attending there should be no need to bring along your own pieces and juice. Here is the 'standard' (non christmas) menu of The Steading if you are requiring anything more than a Flat White and a piece of cake (subject to availability) ...

Lovely to meet up with @AWB , @Alistair31 and @Gibbo78 (along with his charming partner) today for a wee blether across at The Steading in Edinburgh. A darned cold day for sure but, at least the company was warm .:coffee::giggle:

PS: Only three GRs in the photo as Gibbo had to bring his mini due to family visit - so we made him park far away from us, stole his pocket money and then threw pine cones at him until he cried.... (JK BTW, in case somebody calls the feds)

Agree, was good to put some faces to names and appreciate taking some time out on BD to meet up. (y). ,I was a tad disappointed that Sonic wasn’t actually blue I have to say, but saying that when I carefully got in the passenger seat, I found his knob* was in fact blue!!

* Knob, an abbreviated way of referring to the gear knob in a manual car before a time where PC went off the scale.

Looking forward to a meet when all cars have been run in!!
