GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Me too, I had 4 cars with A plan and been with just them for years but this year I've ended up moving 3 of the 4 cars elsewhere, now just have the GR left with them with a renewal due in about March I think.
I have been with A Plan or Greenlight for many years of owning performance cars, typically lightly modified. The competition between the two has meant decent premiums so I'll have to see in Jan 🤞

Good news.
Ceramic coated the winter wheels over the weekend, put them on last night. The wiff saw the car this morning and said it looked like a new car, well chuffed with that comment.

Bad news, BAD DAY
The Wiff‘s car needed another winter wheel as the one of them was buckled as f#ck and couldn’t be straightened so got another from EBay(like rocking horse shite) got it refurbed done a great job, fitted them this morning.
Gave both summer sets a quick wash over and dry then hang them on the walls of the garage, i noticed 2 of the GR’s Protrack wheels buckled. FFS poxy roads🤬🤬🤬

Renewed my insurance today with Hastings Direct (UK). Nothing changed other than an extra year’s NCD. It has increased from £330 to £540 for the year. 😳
Hastings canceled my Insurance 1 month into ownership when I called up to declare the TRD Body Kit and Stripes ended up with Elephant.

Ha I remember putting winter tyres on my old car (pre-Yaris) and before leaving for Cornwall that evening, I called the insurance (RAC) to let them know, expecting a discount based on improved safety. They told me they wouldn’t cover any modifications at all and would only insure my car if they were “Volkswagen tyres”. I explained that VW didn’t make tyres and asked if they meant the stock tyres, but they insisted that the brand had to be VW.

Once that had been clarified, they still wouldn’t budge when I said that the new tyres had a better rating than the stock Pirelli ones that came with the car and told me I’d have to put them back on or my policy would be void. Cue last minute panic and cancellation then new insurer. They probs aren’t the same corporate entity, but to add insult to injury, the RACs main website which was linked to the insurance section had an article on whether winter tyres could improve premiums.

Think they might be confusing wheels and tyres. But computer says no.

If you asked them which tyres are the correct ones, I bet they couldn't tell you.

Jeez Kinboshi mate, you not read the post, they clearly said VW ones 😜

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a company in America once where we literally circled the same question for twenty minutes.

I like that you phrased it in that way when the original point was about tyres.

Yeah great weather we have now (much better then last year). So fortunate to be able to daily drive basically a domesticated rallycar and having a ball, while all the "other nice cars" are nowhere to be seen and only the odd old Volvo or BMW are seen having fun. My other car is rwd but it nowhere near as fun as the GRY!!! And everyone else"normal" is horrified to drive...

exactly this. drove the small snowy roads the other day and was so happy to drive with GR.
Friends and their sports cars are in their garages now, with GR its the best driving weather!

Got hit the other day. Just as a car was coming towards me, its rear door opened and smashed into my GRY hip.

Took my DTUK to electrician to check harness as I suspected they cause occassional CEL. At first inspection, there were brown and black marks on some pins, probably due to lose contact. Hope it gets fixed, really got used to extra power.
Also booked for 25.000km service next Tue. Change oils, evaluate hip damage and will apply Lanoguard.
Since I doubt my Toyota service read manuals, could someone post which things needed to be checked by 25000km (driveshaft nuts for example - as seen here)?

I have seen many GR Yaris on my commutes to work this week in Tallinn and I am getting serious commute to work envy. We have had lots of snow this last week. Not long to wait until I can join in on the fun.

I had some fun in the “less than optimal weather conditions” today. It still blows me away how this car works in wet and snowy conditions. Nothing seems to come close and l am not even trying….

You know it's slippery when getting (four)wheelspin at 120kph.... on nordic winters. Not just a little patch, but the whole motorway. Also started sliding from the rear just steady speed 50km/h on an slightly downhill onramp with like a 100m curve radius....

On UK 'PS4s work fine in winter"-tyres I would have crashed 10 times today, at least :p
