GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

I ordered recently too and on My Toyota I can only see order processing... I've tried viewing the source code to see detail about my order but (maybe because I'm on a Mac) I can't see much

Maybe I'll call Toyota next week for an update
Give them a call for accurate updates. Mine has said order processing since April last year and still says it now but finally here and collecting Friday. Saw it at the dealership this afternoon.

Whoops my order was actually 27/06, that was a typo. Still a good idea to call them, have you had your welcome call?
The welcome call has happened but it was when I spoke to them.. I’ve always been impatient 😋

My GR86 has just arrived at the dealership! I’d told Toyota I would delay picking it up until Sep to get it on the new 73 plate, but now it’s so close I’m not sure I’m going to be able to resist the temptation to pick it up 😂

A month of driving and enjoying it, or wait a month to impress your neighbours (who probably won't notice the new reg, just the new car 😂 ). I know what I would do, but go with whatever makes you happier, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

Or perhaps consider a nice, reasonably-priced cherished plate? (And get the car ASAP obvs!)

I had to wait 15 months for mine to arrive, could not give a f what plate it was on, as long as a white one on front and yellow on back 🤣

I've always put a personal plate on my cars even brand new ones, so it never mattered to me whether it was March or September - and honestly having the 'latest' plate from DVLA is only good for a couple of months anyway as people generally couldn't care less or don't even notice it.

I would double check it isn't already registered. Mine already had a 23 plate assigned before it even went to the dealership. I wasn't planning to delay it (collect this Friday) but worth checking with Toyota online.

FYI there was a Sapphire blue on a transporter full of other Toyotas going south on the A4174 around Bristol towards Keynsham this morning.

Its a good point, They actual pushed mine back to a different vehicle that was (possibly still is) in Japan when I mentioned I was away for most of August and a September delivery (what they originally quoted me anyway) suited me. I did mention as side note that a 73 plate would be nice but didn't stress it.

Quote from email....
To allow for the September registration I have had to change the vehicle over to a later one arriving in that month.

This vehicle is not yet on a ship.

 Never mind 'left the factory' mine's not even in it yet - still awaiting a build slot.

I'd recommend one of the Gtechniq or Gyeon coatings, similar price, but last longer as they have a higher silica content.
I've had PPF to the front bumper and Crystal Serum Ultra to the rest of the car. 300 miles in and 2 stone chips down to metal on the front wings. I can confirm CSU does not protect the ultra thin paint. Seriously from paint surface to metal is barely detectable running a finger over it, guess it saves weight though 😄
