GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

...just a little teaser from Lewis at the dealership πŸ‘€
That's a good move by the dealership - helps stop the door slammers, dry steerers and gear stick wobblers that frequent car show rooms. Did they allow the car to be taken to the detailers prior to your collection or did a mobile unit visit the showroom on your behalf?

Ordered on the 29th of June, still haven't received my welcome call, should I be worried? πŸ‘€ How long did it take for others to receive their welcome call?
Replying to my own comment - ended up calling Toyota Online, who answered straight away, confirmed everything was ok with my order and that I could expect it to be ready for collection in the second half of September. Which works out great for me as I'm back from my honeymoon on the 17th of Sept!

What a month that's going to turn out to be!

Care is needed here.

Do not, under any circumstances, even hint that the collecting of your new car is in any way anywhere NEAR comparable to your wedding/honeymoon.

Advice provided FOC by Silver Fox (divorced).

I also contacted TOnline as I didn't want mine before September. Pretty busy between now and then. Also said I'd prefer 73 plate.

Their reply......
Thank you for your email.
To allow for the September registration I have had to change the vehicle over to a later one arriving in that month.
This vehicle is not yet on a ship.

They also phoned and left a voicemail..

Have they had an attitude adjustment of late? When I mentioned wanting to change colour they very abruptly raised the middle digit and the tone became very rude/swung to a very much take it or leave it position!

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is they can't sell anymore after December 2023, so we won't be getting any more next year

o_O Oh no :(

It feels like they've offered me the chance to join a waiting list just as a wind up.

On the 73 reg request… online said it was down to the dealer whether this would be ok or not. Asked if they wanted me to check but they said no, they would. Guess I’ll have to follow up though

Picked up last Friday 30th June..... 😊
Loving this car and well and truly bonded more or less immediately!
She's a star!!
Every car I've owned has been given a name and this red GR86 is no exception so therefore meet BETTY BOOP! (long story)
The number plate says it all πŸ˜†

For those who are waiting/still waiting it will eventually happen.... I was waiting since April 2022 ..... endless!!!!!
But it was definitely worth the wait! πŸ‘

Congratulations and an even bigger congratulations on your continued patience!! Paid off in the end with a stunning car.

Is this because it’s already on its way to the dealer? Mines currently on the crossing and online team said it can be pushed back until September (it could be that anyway)

Take the rough with the smooth. Only kidding, great month indeed!

Received the call from TOL this afternoon. Car currently in the production queue so September earliest for me. Ties up nicely with the 73 plate on retention!

I emailed TOL requesting Sept Registration and got the following reply:

Your ETA has come forward to mid August, however we can delay handover until September for you.

I emailed them back to clarify that it's Registration from Sept i.e 73 reg not just the handover. Feeling I may need to call them to confirm..

Love the avatar... I've been a fan since 1980 if it's the record label reference I think it is :)

Well after a 3hr test drive on Saturday in a mix of horrific rain and thankfully sunny weather, whereby I was able to apply a suitable layer of beans, even the wife was impressed. So much so, she asked to have one in order to replace her car rather than buy (yet) another.

So did you already have one on order, or have you only just ordered? Or did you have an invitation, and were just test-driving before finalising?

Had a road test today at Inchcape Guildford, my nominated dealer, they have a 72 plate in Electric Blue that has been out on long term loan, but now back.
Richard, one of sales staff very helpful and happy for me to go out for an hour unaccompanied.

I have had GT86 before and enjoyed the extra power of GR.

There was also a Silver GR86 there ready to be collected, pleased to see heated seats appear to be includedgr demo.jpg.

I also received an update from MT advising my car has left factory :).

Hopefully on track for early September.
