Hi All,

Being a long time lurker with some minor posts I'd like to show a bit more about where I am with my GR Yaris.
I bought the Yaris with a single purpose being: go all out on mods. This meant so far that it spend nearly all of its existence in a garage being built.
Some highlights:
  • makes 500+ on ethanol at 1.8 bar (fuel system could not keep up)
  • makes about 460 on pump at 2 bar
  • has a full syvecs system
  • front and rear carbon brakes (carbo brake a400)
  • we replaced the LSD's with the carbon ones but not sure if we keep the fronts
  • has a g25-550
  • 265 all round
  • Verkline subframe and suspension kit
  • tom's body kit
  • fully custom exhaust
  • custom suspension
  • tillit chairs fixed to my position
  • PPG dogbox is not yet installed. Delivery took ages.
  • CAE shifter which will be modified a bit
  • motec c1212 display to add more info on the dashboard
  • Hoping the wrap will be done by the end of next week.
and much more though but that can be found on instagram at yaris_gr_dbmplus
for future updates; we are waiting on some parts and then need to make it driveable. So when it finally hits the road, no idea!

and just a fun fact: the car was used as a donor when the 1st hack of the ECU was released:)

So for now, back to lurking as I rather keep one place up to date than a lot:)

Modified? Why? How? I was under the impression it's just perfect as is?!
As i am going for a ppg dog box, it needs to center a bit better. It needs to help me doing the flatshift better.
As for a commonly asked question:
As for sequential vs manual; i like the driver involvement of the manual as this adds something to a car. The sequential removes that for me. If i wanted a sequential i should have bought another car.
We also opted out on using a load cell as the shifter uses a wire which might break under this type of load.

Also, I believe explaining “a fun car” will need some explaining:)
So basically i am looking at building a car which is new but goes back on when cars were more mechanical. So shifting for example will have a click like the old gated shiter. Intake noises should be present. Comfort level of driving should allow to feel everything. So back to driving with your butt.
The car needs to be able to turn in to a corner really quickly. As for the exhaust, i asked for some mods to make it a weird thing. I do not like a smooth stationary car. So it will have a rough idle as it will tell you it is protesting standing still.
So basically a lot of gimmicks which in the end will run over your senses and make you aware you are driving something different then a modern car.

I am interested to hear and see more this beast!! Completely agree with your sentiments!

So whenever you are ready please let us see and hear the car, i am sure it would drive me mad on a daily commute but i know that is not what it is for!

I salute your dedication!

Some minor details still to be done but here it is. (This is not a render if you wonder)
Thanks to graphikustoms.com who designed the wrap.

far beyond my taste exhaust noise wise but that's the beauty of modding cars, you can make it your own. Fair play to you, hope you get to enjoy it outside sooner rather than later 👍

I love it all! Although i doubt my neighbours would agree and probably not suitable on my commute lol...

But i agree completely with what @AK10TOY says...

It is great to make it what you want it to be, to do what you want to do with it!
