Nothing like getting to the airport parking and realising you've accidentally booked one of the ones where you have to leave the keys and they move it off site.

I've taken pictures of the odometer/fuel remaining and a video all round the outside but definitely going to be worrying until I get back now!

Totally my fault which is the annoying thing, shouldn't have gone foe the cheapest option. Lesson learned.

Valet mode would be nice in such situations... There are throttle pedal modules that do that...

A long while back I had a very nice e46 325i coupe sport that I left at one of those car parks - you leave the keys and they were supposed to park on-site . When I returned from holiday at 1AM they had lost my keys - they said someone had taken it home with them accidentally - still suspicious someone had taken the car too. Had to get a hire car then come back the next day. Not happy.

In todays world, MyT and similar apps that track the car location should stop such shenanigans? Or give you proof for a fat lawsuit....

This would be a nightmare scenario for me.

We very rarely take a car to the airport, usually use the airport train from our local station or a family member takes us. If unavoidable, we take the wife's car 😁

Hope everything turns out OK.

Wow that's bad... they will definitely give it the beans... if you look in their terms and conditions it will say something along the lines of. "We may have to move this vehicle from different sites for operational requirements" that's the excuse they will use when you get it back with 100 miles done on it...

Sorry to hear that but yeah, you need to look over your car when you get it back.

That's my nightmare right there!

Work booked me on a flight once with that and I nearly refused to go once I'd arrived at the airport and realised what they'd booked.
The next month I took the crappy work van and pulled up along side all the mercs and BMW's at valet parking Heathrow T2, handing over the (half broken) key with a "no razzing it, it's my pride and joy"

I'd have just bitten the bullet and paid for something else on the day.

Fingers crossed it's OK for your return.

Mine's booked in for airport parking (park yourself kind) later this year. Taxi not a viable option. Will still be a bit worried because my GTi ended up with a big scratch on the front bumper at Gatwick (suitcase dragged between cars I guess) a couple of years back. Never got that repaired and it was listed as part of the damage when I part-exed for the GR86.

You've not used the app have you, and the geo-location facility?

I believe they got the "How to launch a cracking new car to 450 lucky sods" team to program the geo-location facility, and I believe you need to log in to the app when you want the location updated, and then you need to manually tell it to use the new location. It will stay at that location until you manually update it again. I shit you not.

Yeah I think it's meant to be used as nothing more than a "where did I park my car?" aid.
If anyone was hoping from some sort of built in tracker, I'm afraid you're out of luck :D

Sorry, I did not follow in the sods reference. But MyT, on the GR Yaris at least, seems to track every trip and also where its current location is. If not the case for the GR86, that's worse. But my comment was also meant more in general, most new cars have this functionality, this should help in reducing the number of joyrides and taking the car home rides while it's supposed to be in a car park (moving between car parks in a lively manner it's not as helpful though)

That's because your Yaris is a Toyota. The GR86 is a Subaru.

The MyT app on a GR86 does naff all once you've got the car.

Well. That's both good and bad news I guess. Hope your family member is okay, that's the most important thing.
