Yes its a great car, was able to have the privilege of driving this car last year around the track at Castle Combe. when there for a track day. Have had the same upgrades to mine on my GR.
Have found there service and help very good.

300bhp with Nitron suspension kit and fruity exhaust.

And Nankang tyres.

Anyone else think that’s a disappointing time difference for the additional cost/mods?
It is disappointing. Are the tyres 255/265 wide though? I think that that in combination with a aggressive compound should have enabled them to gain more time, right?

Not really. It’s a second and half quicker than a stock GR Yaris on a relatively short circuit. Might not seem that much but in racing terms that’s a country mile and a heck of a lot quicker than a lot more expensive and exotic machinery on the leaderboard

Quicker than the Civic Type R and that’s all that matters to me as a circuit is meant to be their stomping ground according to their fans as all weather, all surface conditions performance doesn’t matter to them, so pftt to them ha ha.

I’d be interested to see a time with a standard car and grippy tyres.

This guy tested different tyres. The video is in german but it doesnt matter, you can see the different lap times.
He tested PS4S in standard size vs Cup 2 Connect in standard size vz Pirelli PZero Trofeo Race in 235/40/18.
The Car was driven by a former race driver.

For those who just want the raw data:
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S: 1:39.0
Michelin Cup 2: 1:38.2
Pirelli PZero Trofeo Race: 1:37.1

But the P4S wins as it had the highest terminal speed at the finish line. đŸ˜‚

What i could add is, that the added spoiler slowed him down. They said the car would need more power to really have use for it or atleast use a good front splitter. At 200 km/h the spoiler gives them 100 kg compacting pressure. This car did a lap record for compact cars on this racetrack (Sachsenring) with a 1:34.06 probably without the spoiler and some other changes.

That’s very close to the numbers I was expecting.

So very surprised there’s so little in it despite better tyres, suspension, power (exhaust, map and intake).

Exactly my thoughts as well. With all those mods you should be able to gain a tad more time I'd think.

So stock car is quite potent if you know what to do
Exactly. What made the difference here is the tyres. Changing the suspension may impart more confidence but it's not necessarily going to make the car any quicker. It's a lot of why I've left my suspension stock. I've altered the balance slightly by adding more negative camber simply because that is what I prefer.

I've seen it so many times with my old GT86 which had a lot of suspension goodies being close to well driven cars with stock suspension. It's the driver that always makes the most difference.

And we all know a box does zilch/nada/naught/nothing as soon as intake temps go up, which they invariably do when caning it on track and it isn't 4°C...

Is there any calculation for how much power = time ?

I know there’s hundreds of variables but if you have the same car same day, track tyres etc how much time would we think each 50bhp would give on a 1 min lap ??
