GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Picked it up from the PPF place this morning and, of course, it’s don’t nothing but rain! At least I have a nice view from my office window.

Picked mine up today. Drove it about 70 miles in the rain, horrible conditions, but the car handled it fine.

Had plans to go up to the roads around Compton Abbas Airfield / Zig Zag Hill and take some photos, but the weather and time put paid to that so I just have the collection photo and a dirty car to show for it. 😁

So, I've only driven mine and the demonstrator in the rain so far, but it's party piece is definitely getting the back out at roundabouts in these conditions. I couldn't possibly condone this sort of behaviour though, as it will only get you into trouble. 🙄

What I'm really looking forward to though is getting past the 1000 mile mark, opening it up more, some dry roads and to learning the car more. 👍

I’ve never seen the silver in the flesh, one day when mine turns up (still processing 10:42) I will 🤣

By the time the car turns up my hair will near match the colour..

Enjoy the car, and throw up some pictures as and when, as a tease 👍
 
Collected mine - (in ice silver!!) - and immediately dropped it off at the PPF place earlier today. 25 motorway rainy miles, varying the gears and revs throughout, is all I've done - but the driving experience is all positive so far. Still haven't been invited to drive a demo car btw.

Good to hear that the dealer managed to sort their issues, for you to still collect the car yesterday. I thought preparing a new number plate would take longer!

Well, by way of a somewhat belated update further to my post at #3,125 above and after a second Test Drive later in the week when the weather conditions were much better, I subsequently decided to cancel my order - sadly, my long-legged 6ft 3in frame meant that the GR86’s cabin was just too cramped, and the rear three-quarter visibility too compromised, for me to live with the car on a day-to-day basis.

However, that's only part of what became an unexpectedly emotional story prior to Christmas - for anyone interested, I will add a separate post to The “I’m thinking of cancelling/did cancel my order” thread in due course - suffice to say that, according Toyota Buy Online (TBO), the Ice Silver GR86 6MT which was allocated to me, "will be automatically reallocated to the next customer" (i.e. presumably the next customer waiting for a GR86 in that colour on TGB's Order List). Hopefully, he or she will be another member of this forum...

A final point on this thread: some patient and polite persistence on my part paid off in the end and TBO did eventually answer all six of my questions about the RTV sealant issue mentioned in my posts at #89 and #264 on the Engine Failure thread - in the interests of completeness, I will add a further post to that thread with details of TBO's answers later.

So I collected my car yesterday and seems like there were some reallocations made and it could have made a difference in terms of when the car was delivered. The car I collected has a different VIN to the one I've had in MyT (I got the VIN via devtools before they removed it). And the Online guy I spoke to on the phone was saying this definitely wasn't the case. 😠
 
Finally got to see mine in flesh at Jemca Bromley this morning. Dealer took off the packaging despite of clear instructions and multiple reminders. Put standard plates too when I wanted to a private plate on. Will need to be swapped now.
Nonetheless, delivery in a week.. exciting times ahead.. this might be of the the most cheerful January in years :)

Also spotted another one in Black next to it (second pic). Wondering if its owner is here too?
