I haven’t driven yet enough during night-time to get to my own conclusions but… I read some posts that GRY high-beams are not the best for (fast) night driving, leading some of us to install additional LED-bars.
For simplicity, weight (and somewhat cheaping out..) I wonder if possible to use the fog lamps for this purpose? Imagine having a toggle button that when selected, would “link” the high-beams to fog lamps in order to increase light output… Any of you guys already done/thought of this?

The full beam isn't great when travelling at a decent speed. However, the fog lights offer pretty much no additional visibility, other than greater visibility in the immediate vicinity of the car - but that's only useful at lower speeds.

If you were going to replace the fog lights with different lights that cast a long beam, then maybe..? 🤔

Officially fog lights are too low to install any long distance lights (In Finland they need to be 250mm above ground).
Will not go through inspection then..
Stock Fog lights are quite crap tbh - no extra visibility for driving (other than other drivers see you better).

I’ve changed my standard fog lights for Diode Dynamic lights. You can change the lenses from fog to spot or combination of both..

Thanks for sharing. What spec did you go for and what's the effect/impact when in spot rather than fog setting?

Nixkf: could you tell what model did you bought? (any specific model for your GRY?) And how was with the installation /wiring? Cheers

The standard Foglights on my GR Four are just that, foglights, very low with a very low and sharp cutoff but a wide spread and quite bright. As such next to useless as a supplement for high beam, I wouldn't bother wiring the OEM foglights into the high beam circuit.

The high beam is a bit weak though!

My apologies for not replying sooner they were Diode Dynamics SS3 LED, SAE/DOT Type B Fog Light Kit Pro, Fog Optic Yellow.
The installation was quite simple, I fitted with the bumper in situ and they’re plug n play.

Thinking of getting one kit with Yellow Fog Pro/Max and extra pods White Driving Pro.
Would Driving ones work better than OEM fog lights in the fog?

this would be a interesting update. Unluckily no room for fogs due to oil cooler but luckily we seldom have fog here.

-Just to make sure when ordering, were these "the ones"? :) Cheers
