Genuinely gutted for you, even if you do get it today. What a stress you don't need on a new car day.

I had this with BMW once. 5 minutes away from the dealership I got a call to say the car wasn't ready, hadn't been serviced or MOT'd and wasn't even on site... And it was my birthday! They said they'd sort some champagne to make up for it.... They didn't. Twats.
 
Just sitting here grinding my teeth now. Utterly pissed off. The kicker is, even if they phone and say I can come in later, there's a chance I might not be able to get there as my lift wont be around. And I was pretty excited about being able to pick the car up, get it home, give it a quick wash and get the spoiler fitted first thing, as the weather's nice today. No chance of that now.

**** sake. Can't even think what the "issue" can be, other that someone hasn't bothered in time or something.
 
It completely takes the shine off the whole new car experience. When I got the Fabia, the date and time was agreed well in advance, as was part ex price which was honoured, even after a 4mth wait. Everything was as described and was a good day. The Street Triple was new stock but there was still a collection day and the showroom experience was cool and got loads of accessories and bit for free. It's a complete contrast to this. How can it be this bad? It's as if it's never been done by them before and they're learning on the job.

Indeed. the thing is, I don't WANT any of that. I don't want pomp and circumstance, I don't want free toys, I don't want congratulatory handshakes. I just want the f***ing car. I want to go there, sign the forms, pick up the keys, and drive off...and even that is seems is at the mercy or TUKs inefficiency.

To add insult to injury, the insurance is all sorted from today. If I don't get it today, then I lose a day of that. I suppose I could ask them to maybe re-process it but honestly, I wouldn't bother because it would no doubt cause further complications.
 
Has anyone asked about collection from Deby? I assume it will be a no but at the rate these deliveries are going out I'm perfectly happy to go get it.
 
Feel bad for you Conscript knowing that you are so near yet still so far thanks to Toyota’s incompetence!

Fella I know through work put his order in for a new Civic Type R last week. He’s been goading me claiming his car will be delivered before mine (apparently been told early February tentatively).

He’s offered to bet me a full tank of fuel that he will collect his car before i do. Despite my car having been in the Uk for 4 months, i decided to decline his bet as I don’t have any real confidence in Toyota that my car will actually be delivered before his!

That's all I want too. I find it galling the demos got out before customer cars. They've known all along the majority will take the car without a drive.

I need the car before Christmas as I have plans I have to do and there's no getting out of, even if I wanted to. It's a joke that we still don't know exact dates and the process isn't down. The new excuse of there being now HGV drivers is just that. How can they not foresee things?

Yes. I was told no because the cars aren't registered until they are at the dealers. Augustin Martin should hire a van and trailer and personally deliver our cars, dressed as Santa, I think.
 
Dealer just emailed and indeed the car got to them today!! Haven't got payment details yet though so called toyota online too, waiting for the email. How difficult is to press send after they finish a call?
Looks like I will collect a week from today.

Did you get an email from Toyota Online about a collection date or was it just your dealer? As I had both, just wondering if the dealer had missed confirming with Toyota online as they were the ones who registered once it got to my dealer and was all confirmed apparently. He said it all the paperwork was taken care of by Toyota online.
