Hope you get a satisfactory response @chopper602
Not really . . .
I can advise that we still estimate that your vehicle will arrive in 2023, however we will have a clearer indication of an ETA once your vehicles build slot is allocated. Unfortunately we are unable to comment as to when your vehicles build will begin.

We would highly recommend checking your vehicle order tracker on My Toyota for significant updates on your vehicles progress. At the moment your status should show as "Order Processing" however please rest assured this will update once the build slot is allocated.

As if I'm not checking the status !

This is the same response I got last week when I asked for some info..
Makes it so difficult knowing what to do as my garage is sat empty, if it was to be another year away I would buy a stand in toy.

Checked my status this morning... and it has changed to build in progress! :) Last email I had from Toyota was on the 26th October saying about the processing order update. Not sure if this means I will get the car before Xmas now....???

I would say it's a possibility. Allow 1-2 weeks to go from build to leaving the factory, then another month to get to the UK, so say 6 weeks or so.
But then it's down to whether UK deliveries have started by then. If they have, then there's a slim chance the car will get to your dealer fairly quickly after arriving. If not, it will join the rest of them in Derby.

So is there actually an update in the app when the car arrives in Derby? It says in transit at the moment and “we’ll let you know as soon as it arrives”.

11:00 confirmation, had an update from my dealership yesterday saying it was due for 21st of April.
Phoned the online order line and was told that anyone not allocated a build slot will automatically be shifted back every month and that they had apparently informed dealerships not to update us.

Ultimately he could not give me a real update on when the build will be allocated a slot other than “it might be April but probably not”.

Someone with a later order (as in 10.30+ IIRC) was given a delivery date of something like 23rd March which I thought was very specific for something so far out, it feels like they are giving these dates out just to give you something to hold onto and this date will get moved month by month until the real date gets known once it goes into build. So the long and the short of it is I wouldn't give any value to that info you have been given. Sorry if I have burst your bubble, lets hope I'm wrong anyway.

PS my dealer gave me a March delivery date (well March, just not specific date) which I don't believe at all, my order was nearly 30 mins before you.

Just updated my status to arrived in Portbury 😁

I just called my dealer to see if he had any news about a demo and as expected he didn't have any updates.

Although what he did say was that he was going to a GR86 launch/track day at Goodwood around the 14th/15th of November. He also said that Gazoo Racing guys will be there with Toyota UK and he'll give me a call after it with any new info.

I wondered if they would do something like this. GT86 owners got a Toyota funded track day at Oulton Park, that was nice. There was also a try-out day for the GRMN, pre-pandemic.

I think it's the least they could do to make up for the delays and doubts. At least it would put us on par with our American cousins

My Dealer originally gave me the 23rd March, they mailed yesterday saying it was now 21st February with test drives available early 2023!
10.36am confirmation.

My order was around the same time as yours... hhmm.... *scratches chin thoughtfully*
They gave you the 23rd March date a while back didn't they? Or am I confusing you with someone else? (that date rings a bell)

Well, having been out and effectively offline all day, I have just checked this thread and then the Vehicle Order Tracker on My Toyota - my GR86 is now being shown as In Transit. I have therefore changed my vote in Post #1 at the beginning of this thread to Arrived Portbury.

Interestingly, my wife has a Gen.11 Honda Civic e:HEV Sport on order from our local Honda dealer and we had been told that the car would be available for delivery on the 8th December 2022. However, having called in today, we have been informed that the delivery date has been put back to the 20th January 2023 - I now beginning to think that the GR86 might actually arrive before the Civic...
