GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Been a while since I've checked this thread, wonder if anyone can advise...

With a 10:32 order, and the status still being 'processing order', roughly when are we thinking the build date would be?

Nobody has any idea to be quite honest. There are people on this forum whose cars arrived in the UK in June/July and those who are currently tracking their recently built cars on a cargo ship to Europe, all with an anticipated collection date some time in mid-November.

So your build date could be tomorrow or it could be some time next year, but it may still mean very little with regards to when you will actually receive the car.

It does seem like cars are built in the order of when they were purchased, with some variation depending on the paint/transmission choices and a few were pushed forward due to order cancellations, and recently cars purchased before 10:25 AM on 20/04 appear to have gone into build status, so based on that you could estimate your car to go into built sooner rather than later. From there it takes around 2-3 weeks to leave the factory, then 4 weeks on the ship to Portbury and another couple of weeks to get to Derby for a PDI.

When your dealer receives it and gets the car ready for collection is anyone's guess.

I am a 10.36am confirmation & have been told by my dealer 20 March 2023 delivery.

20th March sounds very specific for something so far off, I would be highly skeptical of that myself. If they had said late Feb to early April I would have found that far more credible. My order was around the same time as yours, personally I am hoping for nearer summer.

Pretty sure everyone that doesn’t have a build slot has the March date as a place holder.

It looks like cars up to 10.25 have gone into build so don’t think you guys will be far off.

I am 10:24 order and my car is still at processing stage.
But there is some movement as dealership has emailed me this week asking if I would like rear spoiler fitted for £495.
They have no information on my car as yet, but think there will be some news soon.

Of course I skeptical, isn't everyone who's on this GR86 rollercoaster!

I have the same date and I’m definitely a 2024 delivery - back of queue. Perhaps TUK gave everyone that wasn’t in build a date of 6 months in advance and will then adjust it next year?

Dear Customers

We are delighted to share some fantastic news. We have now filled the vacancy in our department. We welcome young Callum to the team as head of Refreshments and Snacks.

Callum heard of the position from Tyrone, who is the head of the Detailing department. He really won us over at interview, where he showed great tenacity. This incredible young man showed initiative and brought along some special tea bags from Yorkshire. Having made the whole department a brew we were totally won over by both the candidate and the tea.

Callum has gone on to impress us further, he offered to go on regular trips to a place called Harrogate to source more of this special “Yorkshire Tea”.

Callum is a new driver and a little nervous, so he suggested using the B roads rather than the motorways and has made his 1st trip in the fleet GR86.

He has reported back with 100 bags of this amazing Tea and said the car is just brilliant!

We will be back in touch with more information soon.

Kind Regards

Send him this way - https://www.cornish-tea.co.uk/ - much nicer than the Yorkshire stuff.

Did Callum work for Red Bull Racing before this role? You need to keep an eye on him 😂

Anyone who's had the email asking for your private reg docs, did you just reply to that email with the docs attached?

I had the email asking if any details have changed (in my case I wanted to add private plate). I sent across an attachment of my retention document to the same email address.

Although, I've not had any correspondence to say thanks etc.. so no idea if that was fine or not 🤷‍♂️

Dear Fellow members

Bad news, admin have asked for a stop to all spoof Toyota Marketing bulletins.

As a fellow GR86 buyer, I thought making anyone smile would be a good thing in a world that is full of negativity.

To all who have seen the humour in my posts, thanks for your appreciation.

Kind Regards

It was clearly parody, can’t see the problem? Toyota deserve having the piss taken out of them.

Please don't argue. It's my fault!

I noticed that the account used the original Toyota logo and then reportet it to the admin.

I try to explain (in my bad english).

I found it very funny myself, but from other experiences i know, that this may cause significant damage to this forum.

If you own a website/forum/blog/whatever with user generated content, you (as admin/owner) are responsible for ANY break of law that occurs, if you don't delete it asap.

The account was using the name and logo of Toyota. so - although very funny - it was legally a clear copyrigth infringement.
This is something that MUST behandeled by Toyotas lawyers, if they know about it. (its their job, to protect the companies intellectual property)
So - further or later - the admin has to take actions against it.

Usually these claims are not free and cost several hundret euros, that the site owner has to pay.
In most cases websites/forums are closed down after such incidents. -> I don't want that, I like this forum!

So this has nothing to do with lack of humor, but with protecting this wonderfull forum and its owners.

I hope you can understand that.

A quick reminder to all that we are currently a self funded forum - so when someone deliberately sets out to mock Toyota, changing username and adding the Toyota logo we need to step in unless you are all willing to cover legal fees.

No posts have been deleted, a username has been rolled back and we have asked that any issue between the poster and Toyota is dealt with directly and not via this forum.

Draw your own conclusions and please move on.

Today marks the date that most of us had been expecting to have our cars arrive, going by the DevTools hack (until it went back to November, and then disappeared).

I know it was never an "official" date to be relied upon, but we've managed to get here and still there doesn't seem to have been a universal update from Toyota UK on what is happening with the cars waiting for delivery. The only information we've got is from those who'd had to chase Toyota themselves, and even then, it seems to be contradictory or inconclusive.

Come on, Toyota. We know the car now meets "European conditions" as customers in Europe are already getting handed the keys. Please, throw us a bone and give us an official statement as to when the cars are going to be delivered. I'm tired of listening to speculation, rumour and third-hand info.

Different car, but probably a similar reason as mentioned on Harrys Garage yesterday about the Emira.

MD of Lotus mentioning European deliveries have started, but post Brexit, European type approval must happen first and then the UK, once the European approval has been completed.

Approx 20 mins in.

Yup and some of us need to start getting finances sorted, whether be borrowing cash or applying for a loan. Not easy or ideal when there is not even an sniff of a new official release date (an official approx ETA would help)
