GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

I have gone for fitted so I don’t have to mention it to insurance as it is on the original invoice. And no warranty get out for corrosion from the bolting on or boot hinges etc. not really a massive saving bolting it on yourself in the great scheme of things

Anyone know the part number of the duckbill from Toyota? Feel it might work out better if I give that to the dealer to look it up rather than ask for a 'duckbill spoiler' - they might think its a new netflix show I want to know the end of ;-)

It won't be on the car invoice. That's billed from Toyota GB. This is an extra you buy at the dealer. You only go to dealer to collect.
They actually got back to me about it and they'll get back to me with a price. Asked had I been tracking the car and told them it was in Derby. Interestingly the manager is on a course in Derby today too ...

Post in thread 'GR86 - Toyota OE Ducktail Spoiler - where to buy'

There you go, Andy has listed all the part numbers (assuming that they remain the same in the UK)

Got my “Order Update” email today along with another request for second form of ID dated last 3 months. I’m guessing cause the previous twice I’ve sent it in have now passed the 3 month mark 🤣

I just used the 3M tape which came with my ST spoiler. That thing ain’t coming off and I think it’ll be a pain in the arse when I want to remove. So 3M will be fine.

I just did an email search to see when my last contact with Toyota was and saw I'd missed one on Friday checking to see if I wanted to put a private plate on the car. Looks like things may be moving for me again.
Also received my 'order update' email today.

Dear Customers

Here at the marketing department we pride ourselves on delivering strong communications to our customers. With that in mind we will be now offering more updates via the GR Zoo forum and answering any questions you might have regarding progress at our Derby depot.

In Derby Dorris (head of IT) is busy trying to apply the software update to all the GR86 cars that have arrived. Having found our patch lead, she has encountered an issue in that the new cars do not appear to have an Ethernet port.
Dennis, who is head of the accounting department, has offered to get his dongle out. Dorris sadly can’t see how this will help the situation but has suggested that she takes a closer look at it after work on Monday.

Dorris now believes the cars have a Scart lead connection. She is going to take the one off her DVD player at home, which she likes to watch box sets of Dads Army on. Once she has this equipment there is great optimism the problem will soon be fixed.

We have received a concerned email from a customer regarding Cyber Security and how we are going to keep the new software update secure.
Rest assured all is being done to keep the data safe. Dave, who is our head of security, has been down to Screwfix and bought a number of new locks for the IT room door, so it is now extremely secure.

We hope this update has helped set your minds at ease.

Kind Regards
Toyota Marketing
There’s far too much information in that note for it to have come from Toyota! Next thing you will be telling us the delivery dates of our cars!!

If your car is built and being shipped then the vehicle must surely have VIN available to the Dealership at least (even if it is being suppressed in the MyToyota data packets)?

I called my dealer back on Tuesday, they said they will look into it. But clearly don't really want anything to do with it, no responses, completely lack of interest on the call.

Probably looking for another dealer that cares more when it's time for servicing around Basingstoke

Ive found Sandhurst has been quite interested and helpful ref a GRY, and have moved my GR86 order from Guildford to Sandhurst now - Gford havent contacted me once in 10 months since my first enquiry / telling them I'd placed an order etc. I've also never spoken to the same person there or had a call back when leaving a message at reception...

If only tracking meant what it should, as in track day 🤣👍

I have a VIN! And a spoiler on order! What a day. £480 including labour which I’m happy with tbh.

Oh and my ETA for the car is showing as late November on their system. Currently at the Suez Canal so about right.
They're still getting parts to look into it for me. Asked Toyota GB about it and all centers should've got it in the compass case with part numbers. Didn't think it would take this long tbh. They got emailed that on the 11th.
