Howdy all.

Just spotted that a TG article was posted this morning.

Hot off the digital presses !

Spoiler alert: They like it. 9/10 😁

Hopefully the 86 makes the cover of some UK mags soon, would like to nab a few and keep with the car. 😎

Sounds pretty good. Some comments about being tricky at low speed, but presumably that's just it being a new car.

Review doesn't really go into a massive amount of detail on driving dynamics, however.

Wonder where they got the "only available on three colours" comment from. I've heard about stocks of electric blue running low (which makes no sense), but presumably they're just misinformed given you've also got the grey, silver and dark blue.

Another positive review, thanks for flagging up @Electric Blue .

Looks like the car they used in their photos is the same one that was at the MR2 day in Warwickshire earlier this year, that a few of us got to see, sit in and indeed in my case start up!

Having a quick look back through the MR2 day thread liked above, I had to chuckle when I read your post @doogle83 "hopefully only a couple of weeks until the dealer demos start turning up" - that was in May!

We were all younger and more full of hope back then weren't we!

Looks good! Hopefully a video will follow on their Youtube shortly, then other reviews. Then hopefully at some point, we can at least be told when we might see our own cars :)

Can someone please explain what this means though...

the car isn’t much heavier than the outgoing one (spec-for-spec, it’s supposedly a little lighter),

...I've seen other reviews where they say the same thing, and perhaps I'm thick, but I still can't work out exactly what "spec for spec" means. How can the car be simultaneously heavier than it's predecessor, but lighter "spec for spec", given that the initial car didn't really have any spec levels which are directly comparable tot he GR86 spec levels? The only thing I can think is that perhaps they mean that an auto GR86 is lighter than an auto GT86, but heavier than a manual GT86, or something.

I note Top Gear is back on our television screens this Sunday.

It would be nice to see a TV review.
Yeah, it would be nice to have a slot on Top Gear, they were probably invited to the launch in Spain so it's a possibility but I highly doubt it will be featured. I also would have to watch it even though I dislike 2/3 of the presenters haha.
