Which makes it all the more frustrating that none of the three GR Corollas will make it to the UK. The exact reason why is unclear. One suit told us it's because Brits already get the GR Yaris, which better “connects” with us. Another hinted that emission rules might have been to blame. But whatever the reason, it seems cruel to deny one of the world's biggest hot hatch markets this Toyota.
It's a crying shame that we will never see it.

My guess is emissions is keeping it out of Europe

Imagine how the North Americas feel with no GRY

The only GRC to come close is the Morizio & good luck getting one, let alone for GRY money

If the GRC was to come to Europe would be the same mess the GR86 is ?

Yes totally agree. If I was given the choice of either the GRY or the GRC for the UK market I'd go GRY all the way. It's way more bespoke and more compact.

I love the digital dashiness and the GR branded intercooler of the Corolla though

Rather the Yaris then the Corolla for me at least...

Hot hatches, if the Yaris even is one (not really), have been getting too big and heavy for some time already...
Agreed, my Focus RS Mk3 whilst being a good car, was too heavy on the rural lanes around us.

I’ve just taken delivery of the GRY, however initial thoughts are extremely positive, more so after the exhaust upgrade yesterday, we now have noise after 5 days!!

My RS2000 MK2, 205Gti and the original WRX are my car highlights to date. I focus on affordable, exciting everyday driving cars, the Yaris could be the best yet, time will tell.

That's a fantastic car history there! If the Yaris is even anywhere near those absolute legends that's some recommendation.
