I received the email as well. They know I exist

The email distracted me and I didnāt phone after reading it. But as I was driving home I started thinking how long I could go without collecting the car once ready, before they refund me my deposit and cancel my order. My deposit was only Ā£250 so going to leave the order in place I think and just ignore it for now. Iāve decided I donāt want the car through this winter so will make them wait till Iām ready to take it next year in spring.I'm in line for an ignition red MT, I wonder if there is anything that can be done to allow me to have your position?
(Assuming a - That it's OK with everybody else b- You don't feel like I'm jumping on your grave!)
Yes I got the email and my car has been in Derby since 30/08.No email yet, so either they're using an extremely slow email system to get these sent out, or they're only sending out to some and not all. Has everyone who's received this latest email that doesn't actually say much, other than there's a delay, have a car that's already sat in Derby?
I've not had any email either and as far as I know 'my' car is on a boat. Haha well itās definitely not the sound!!Any sources? Most of the time it's emissions or sound related, like apparently with the i30N's. As has been said before, the safety systems have been about for ages. They won't be that different
Same. Part of me rather selfishly hopes that it's only the cars which were shipped early and are already sitting in Derby which are requiring whatever rectification work is required, whilst those built later already had the changes made in the factory and are so still on schedule.I've not had any email either and as far as I know 'my' car is on a boat. Multiple emails from dealers to custumers in Europe and phone calls.Any sources? Most of the time it's emissions or sound related, like apparently with the i30N's. As has been said before, the safety systems have been about for ages. They won't be that different
Hmmm, wonder if that was prompted by my cancellation email? At least it's something...A proactive update email from Toyota!! ...but I mean, what is the actual point in sending somethig so horrendously pointless. They've clearly been passed feedback that people need an update and this is the crap they come up with

Further proof that the poor guys at Toyota Online are kept in the dark and get barraged with passive-aggressive phone calls, emails and twitts from the prospective GR86 owners, seemingly through no fault of their own. No offense to anyone who's done it as we've all been fed up with the whole experience.Well I had a very nice voicemail this morning from Toyota GB after I replied to yesterday's 'update' saying they didnt know the reason for the additional delay or what the European requirements were (that is what I asked), but he said they'd be in touch as soon as they know more. He's called before and seems genuinely wanting to help. Of course someone somewhere in Toyota knows why they're stuck in port/Derby else they'd already be sending them out to the dealers shortly.
I've only ever asked politely and via email as in reality if they respond today or next week it'll make little difference. As you say, the people who respond/answer the phones have no ability to do anything other than tell you what they know. I think you'll always get more from someone when you're polite to themFurther proof that the poor guys at Toyota Online are kept in the dark and get barraged with passive-aggressive phone calls, emails and twitts from the prospective GR86 owners, seemingly through no fault of their own. At the same time, that frustration should be channeled via a formal complaints procedure so hopefully it will put pressure on the corporate to improve their communication and work with the buyers and Toyota Online on making the experience better in the future.

Absolutely, I'm sure most forum members have been very civil in all interactions with the guys at Toyota, but equally there would have been some unwarranted anger directed at the wrong people who have very little influence on what they know and what they can tell us (as evidenced by your voicemail).I've only ever asked politely and via email as in reality if they respond today or next week it'll make little difference. This is what I find baffling. How can Toyota make the decision to hold cars, knowing that customers are expecting them, but not give the reason why to Toyota Online/UK so that they can update the customers?Well I had a very nice voicemail this morning from Toyota GB after I replied to yesterday's 'update' saying they didnt know the reason for the additional delay or what the European requirements were (that is what I asked), but he said they'd be in touch as soon as they know more. Don't forget the golf in the afternoon...Andy mate, you don't make it to the top of a major corporation by listening to customers.
You make it to the top of a major corporation by listening to shareholders.
They sold 97,253 cars in the UK last year.
If you were a managing director at Toyota, how much company time would you waste on 400 angry little people, most of whom truly believe that they have no realistic alternative to tolerating the silence and delays and rumoured unreliability, before gratefully paying for their cars anyway? If any of them drop out, you have a thousand chumps lined up volunteering to take their place.
If he has any sense, Agustin will take one look at the Aygo and CH-R sales figures, and tell his deputy to tell his secretary to delete any e-mails about the GR86.
And then take a two-hour lunch.
Perhaps Toyota in Japan has been dealing with EU authorities and is working on changes. Eventually TSBs will be issued and individual countries will see what needs to change, but maybe those are not ready yet. This is what I find baffling.
