GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Idly reading the above posts, wondering why I haven't had an email saying the same. Just as I think that, my phone pings...it's an email from Toyota!

...oh. Everyone else get's an update; I get some marketing gumf :/

In fact, as I scrolled down, pretty much the only thing it doesn't mention is the GR86.

No email yet, so either they're using an extremely slow email system to get these sent out, or they're only sending out to some and not all. Has everyone who's received this latest email that doesn't actually say much, other than there's a delay, have a car that's already sat in Derby?

Yes just got the useless email and my car has sat in Derby since July

I didn’t notice I got the mail. Found it unread when I searched my mail box for Toyota to get their number as I was about to ring them to cancel when I left work.

I got the email and have replied asking what the “new european conditions” are and how they’ll effect the car, i’m not holding my breath for a response

I can't image what conditions this should be, or what changed in the last weeks?
Those "conditions" /requirements don't change from day to day...

How can they miss something such important?
Totally stupid.

My date is still mid october, but i'm really pissed, considering the first time to cancel/flip the car and stick with my GT86...

Yeah, ‘my’ car has been in the country since July and I received the email this afternoon.

Only things that changed recently were emissions standards a few years ago and the next change is 2024 along with safety standards and noise regs last July in preparation for new drive by limits for 2022 and the next step to noise regs isn’t until 2026 so it’s an oversight on Toyotas part rather than the EU throwing a spanner in the works imo.

I'm in line for an ignition red MT, I wonder if there is anything that can be done to allow me to have your position?

(Assuming a - That it's OK with everybody else b- You don't feel like I'm jumping on your grave!)

We had the same bullshit, about "new European requirements".
The outcome is "possibly" a new VSC mode.
Maybe they discovered, that the UK is still part of Europe ans also needs this update.

Any sources? Most of the time it's emissions or sound related, like apparently with the i30N's. As has been said before, the safety systems have been about for ages. They won't be that different
