Those that have cancelled their order, can you tell me whether you get your deposit back?

I'm seriously considering cancelling & you definitely get your deposit back it was always stated as being refundable, I certainly wouldn't have ordered a car sight unseen if it hadn't been, daft thing is I never thought I would be thinking of cancelling because I didn't know when the car would be delivered or for mysterious reasons for delivery being put on hold, I thought it would be because I didn't like it when I actually got to see & drive it, I mean god knows when that's going to happen?

Yes it definitely comes back. My wife had ordered two and now she has chosen the colour cancelled the other one and money was back within a week.

Surprised they her order two, my understanding was there was a1 unit limit due to low volume deliveries to the UK.

ordering two, because she didn’t know what xolour she wanted is a bit OTT

It was just a link and know way of them limiting it I guess. When they spoke to her on the phone they said quite a few customers had also ordered two for that same reason so I think a few slots would have opened up in the last month or so.

I agree it's OTT but when it was potentially the only option of securing a car and still having a choice when they are all sold out it was the only option. Originally the test drives were going to be starting June/July to see the colours in the flesh but that never materialised so decided once she got the call from Toyota a couple of weeks back.

TBF Toyota didn’t say “only one per customer“ but they could have easily done so if they really wanted to give everyone “an equal chance“ and restricted it to “one per person” as you had to upload photo ID (which cost me at least 25 minutes on the iPad 🤬) 🤷‍♂️ Oh and not opening the portal early 😂

Now that wouldn’t have stopped someone determined to get a family member to make another order , will be interesting to see how many went to flippers once they start to arrive , I’m guessing as soon as firm delivery dates for the first in the U.K. there will be adverts for them , big question is how much they think they will get for one 🤔
