GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

My car has been in processing since 19/5/2022. Email confirmation was 10.20am. It hasn’t moved to build stage yet. But I’ve had 2 phone calls from my local Coventry Listers garage is adamant that my car is due to be delivered 31/7/2022. I don’t know how that is possible considering many people are much more advanced in the process compared to me with later deliveries. Is anybody else experiencing a similar situation? Toyota on-line had me due for 2023.

Someone suggested many of the cars that were originally going to be demo's have been reallocated to customers.

I think 70 cars were the figures mentioned?

No idea if that's true, but I'm sure I read it on here.

Hi @Jagger07 , have you been dealing with a particular sales exec at this dealer? Or did you just order online and allocate them as your local?

@SmokingPancakes & @Nick - have you seen this? Looks like there's another local one. ETA date is interesting..

I think our guy said that he had 4 orders total, so it seems all of us are now on the forum!

He did say to me when he last called it was on track for the end of July, but that was before dev tools changed to October, but we shall see.

Heroic leader currently off the coast of France, due to arrive in Portbury tomorrow evening.
 
Hopefully this might be able to clear some things up for you guys.

I had a call from Toyota UK today, and spent around 20-30 minutes discussing the whole ordering process (with a lot of apologies my way for the delay, and a promise of more transparency). The result of this transparency was the following (bare in mind, my dealer told me in May that my ETA was September 13th 2022).

So this is (apparently) the situation with these cars.
  • Build of the 400 car allocation is due to take place across the next year, starting from around May 2022, until June 2023. The factory is working their way through a list of UK allocations on a first come, first serve basis.
  • There is currently no definitive number of cars being built per month specifically for the UK market, as the factory are building EU market cars concurrently.
  • The only time an estimated delivery date can be given, is when you car reaches the "Build" phase on the app. From that point, it is approximately 3 months until you'll get the car. Any "estimates" given by dealers should not be being communicated to customers. That field on the order sheet is only populated because it can't be blank.
  • I had my order confirmation email at 10:19. They've said this places me "just in front of half way" of the orders. I've been told there's a chance my car may go into build in 2022, but delivery will almost certainly not be until 2023. Car may not even enter build before then.
  • They will have no further news until the car goes into build, so between now and then, there's nothing more to say.
Safe to say, I'm not thrilled with this. My dealer was adamant of the September 13th delivery date. I was prepared for that date. Now there's a possibility I might not get the car for almost a year!

Frustrating as it is , we are currently in a world of the unknown. The dealers are just passing on the info from Toyota head office who unfortunately do not know what is around the corner. In the fiesta forum customers have been promised date after date and are still waiting a year on. Unless they have already been built or being built at this moment I don’t think anyone really knows when these cars will actually be built or when we will get them. Only saving grace for me personally is a). I don’t really need it at the moment and so happy to wait if need be, 2). Hoping by the time it is built petrol prices may have started to come down! Av. 32mpg with current prices (which still may go up more ) might start to put a few people off going ahead, me included.
 
pure guess but I suspect there is uk calibration occurring with cars that’s causing a delay. Recognition of our speed signs etc. until that sort of thing gets sorted no cars will ship from Derby.

Same for me, will MyT be like Amazon where you get a 'it's 8 stops away' notification and a tracking map?!

I spoke to the dealer last week, they reckon the car comes to them next week. It's still at Portbury according to the app.

Makes 4 of us - which puts paid to its a demo car being reallocated as 2 of us have now been told end of this month. Said exec maybe reading the wrong delivery year!
