It looks as though Toyota will be offering Mudflaps for the GR8, they are listed as accessories in the US , so no reason why we shouldn’t get them in Europe. They look quite discreet and I’d definitely be fitting them. IMO the rally style flaps for the GRY (which suit the car) wouldn’t look right on the GR86 🤔

Will you be fitting them🤔

I just had a scroll through that link at the accessories.

Really like the look of those 17' bronze wheels!
Unfortunately the bronze 17inch forged alloys are not on the Toyota parts system in the US yet , I think these are the same wheel which are for the GT86 and are available

Would definitely get those - would keep a lot of the road rash off the sills.
That and PPF.
I think some strategically placed PPF will be a must , the sill extensions look like they will get peppered from below from the front wheels and from above when getting in and out of the car 🤔

I've got another car with self healing PPF and it still looks like new 6 years later so will definitely be doing that again. It also has rally style mudflaps to keep as much crud off as possible.

Can you tell I hate paint respray mis-matches and stone chips? :ROFLMAO:

How good is ppf then really?

Never had a new car so never needed it.

I have wrapped a car before and was pretty resilient but still got stone chips and rash.

Well there's still not a mark on the front of it and swirls are non existent.
It's not cheap, but worth it, especially if any possibly colour match would be tricky. Maybe not on a black car or any other colour that's easy to match, but something like a multilayer pearlescent might be terrible to match.

Like the idea of these but the thought of taking a drill anywhere near my new car makes me cry currently! :ROFLMAO:

That's not a bad shout seeing as the main section will have 2 screws in it already.

Wish we knew if Toyota were going to offer these here or not. Roughly £120 on eBay plus potentially getting stung for duties etc
I'm weighing up going to Japan again once the restrictions aren't bonkers to see my cousin and bring a few bits back. Would almost be worth paying the extra for a second case.

I’ve emailed these folk to see if they be making something for the GR86

So these guys are looking to make some for the GR86 and would need a car for a few hours to scan , measure etc. If anyone is close to Glasgow and would be willing to help out I’m sure they will look after you 😉

Have Rallyflapz which simply bolted in place using exiting mounting holes on the front of my GRY and work very well, nothing is ever perfect. Also got Sticky's GR sticker pack and put then on but made sure have the nice GR logo on the outside of each rather having word lettering on the drivers side on the outside edge of the flap.
