GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

Order time doesn’t seem to make any difference reading through those that have had updates on the app MyT and online.

Mine was an early order prior launch, confirmation came through 09:18 on launch day though. Next email stated August delivery and on the phone I got told late August, early September. Yet I’ve had no update online and nothing showing on MyT and others are getting later dates for delivery and already in the app as processing.

Not worth trying to second guess what’s going to happen next. Don’t think anyone knows, even those at Toyota. But I wouldn’t bother assuming orders are done by time placed.

It's looking like those who are quite early into the list do not seem to be in the myT app. Could be because it was not up and running till late and those early had already been processed and not gone back to be added to the app. We may appear once there is a status change on the order.

I think I was pretty early... (10:17 confirmation email) and I have had the app updated to show the car, although it's just on "order processing" but I haven't had the call yet, so who knows?

10:11 here, im at the same place. order not sent to the factory yet, no status listed if doing the code inspect.

That's exactly my thinking. I suspect that this IS the case. It also explains the "sorry no GR86s" message on the website right now. I still think that they'd do better to communicate this though. Also, if you've had a hard credit search on your credit file and get no car on the back of it, that would be an FCA complaint for a lot of people I reckon, so it would make sense for Toyota to try and fulfil all of the orders they have to avoid this.

Having said that everybody I've dealt with at Toyota has been really lovely - clearly doing their best in a difficult situation but still very polite and as helpful as they can be.
 
I still haven't had the phonecall but I'm assuming I've got a car because:

1. I have an ORCA number.
2. The My T App updated on my phone saying my order is being processed and I will be notified when they start building the car.
3. The Toyota Customer Portal states the order has been processed and the factory has the details.

I reckon if you have all or a combination of the above you'll be ok. As for delivery times, I'm just going to crack on and sell my current car and use the wifes car as and when I need one. I might even be able to save some cash whilst I wait......
 
Had my phone call yesterday at about 3pm, Electric blue manual order confirmed at 10:10am, got quoted October delivery, but they expect it to probably move into November/December. Was showing in the My T App as order sent to factory about a week ago.

Lady on phone confirmed that they've fully sold out for the 2 year production run, and it is a limited run car with no more expected to be sold.

Nearly 50% of owners in one forum is insane. Mods have done well to keep it relatively civil.

If that’s the case even though might have to wait till 2023 they will be very rare and maybe even collectable in the future. Just needs a great review from someone like EVO as Car of the year and bingo !! If you have a deposit down hang in there
 
Apparently it's the fastest Toyota have sold out of a car in their history, another thing to note as I haven't seen anyone mention it, but once it's built, it apparently takes 6-8 weeks to arrive in the UK by ship, and then delivery is generally within 2 weeks of it being unloaded.

wonder if this backs up the claim above about yota saying the entire allocation for the two years is sold out. thats it. done

which makes me think i might get the GR86 in 2023 after all if a recent 10:13 order is being told December already.
 
Hello all, I've just registered now that I've had a bit of spare time.

I've been keeping an eye on this forum for a while and the content and discussion have been very useful for me, so thanks to all involved.

I ordered a silver manual on that fateful day and had my order confirmation email through at 10:17. No phone call yet, but the car has appeared in the 'My T' app as 'processing'.

I've had a 2012 GT86 in the past (amongst other sporty things), and I'm very much looking forward to receiving the GR86 as and when it arrives...
