Currently getting my 20,000 km service at a dealer in northern Sweden for my 2025 gen2. They wanted to use 0w-16 oil. I told them that was not correct so they showed me their computer screen (which apparently was national level service information). They had selected the correct car/engine, and their database indicated anything from 0w-16 to 10w-30. I told them that was a mistake and that was supposed to be for the regular Yaris. They had little reason to believe me so I told them to look in the owners manual. They eventually agreed to use 0w-20 SP but it took some discussion. EDIT - they ended up putting in a 0w-20 SN that they bought from a third party store. I told them this was still wrong but they said they will warranty the engine if anything happens.
They also wanted to change the brake fluid, which is only normally due at 40,000 km, however, this was an honest mistake on the employees part and was quickly remedied.
I had them print out their service schedule for warranty work.....and their regular (and only) service is the "severe service" schedule for much of the rest of the world. So for example, transfer case and rear diff changed at 20,000 km to maintain warranty. In some (most?) countries it's done at 40,000 km for basic warranty work for regular street driven cars.
So double check everything when going to a dealer in Sweden, their system is wrong and based on past experiences it will almost for sure not get updated or fixed.
Edit - they also over filled the transfer case as they used the wrong fill hole, but I caught it before the car was driven.
So now I have a car with the wrong engine oil and service that was done that was not needed. It cost nearly $760 EUR equivalent which isn't the problem, but it still quite high for a 20,000km service
