Hello all, posting in the general area so it's not only GR86 folk that see it.

Has anyone had any experiences with Motorway?

The reason I ask is that I am having a nightmare trying to arrange collection of my recently-sold GR86. Collection supposed to be arranged within 1-3 days, here we are at the end of the 5th day still waiting for the logistics company or whoever it is to get in touch.

I've tried getting answers/support from the Motorway chat function, but it's useless and going around in circles.

Am I just unlucky?

My patience is wearing thin.

If anyone might fancy a one-owner silver GR86, fsh, with cherished plate, pretty much immaculate interior but admittedly a couple of scuffs and scrapes and slightly kerbed wheels x2, let me know. (This is not a 'for sale' post, jus putting the feelers out. Can be priced to reflect my impatience.)

Can’t help unfortunately, but mine may well be going the same way very soon and is also a tad scabby (no offence meant). What did yours go for in the end if you don’t mind me asking? Feel free to PM instead if you prefer!

I sold my last car through Motorway. I ended up with a pretty decent price.

However, when the dealer came to collect they tried to knock me down a grand. They said there was a slight lip on front disks and tracking was out.

I told them to pay the agreed upon auction price. Guy was giving me a lot of attitude, saying car wasn't as described etc.

He drove from Yorkshire to Scotland with a trailer. He left in a huff when I wouldn't budge on price.

He called half an hour later looking for £500 less, I told him no.

Then an hour later he called back and told me he'd pay full price, but he wasn't happy about it! He then advertised it with a 3 grand premium 😂

I wouldn't describe it as a great experience, but I got a fair price.

If your car is as described then I'd advise to hold out for your price. The cars aren't in high supply.

PM sent, and then just seen your for sale post. Good luck with the sale

I think it's pot luck on the buyer rather than Motorway themselves - they're basically an agent through which bids are made.
I sold my Fiesta through them and it was OK but the buying dealer knocked off a grand for various 'things that need addressing'. A few days later it was up for sale on a 3k premium with a glowing description of how well looked after it was - pretty sure they hadn't done anything much.
I wasn't unhappy with the money I got, but I still felt slightly cheated by the buyer.

I never did get an update from the supposed buyer of the car (FRF Toyota Swansea - they didn't respond to my direct contact either). Getting any information from Motorway was like trying to get blood out of a stone.

So for now, I still have the car, but if all goes to plan it will be leaving me on Monday via an alternative selling platform. I'm reserving judgement until the process is complete, but the communication and provision of information has been much, much better so far.
