Feels insulting to call a GRY 'standard' 😄

Here's my pride and joy, picked up in June 2021

Not done much to it, made some front mudflaps from carbon fibre sheet, added a subtle wrc decal which as survived multiple jet washes to my surprise, got a great looking forged carbon gear knob, and recoloured the alloys BBS gold recently after a slight kerbing

The gold wheels are amazing, they transform the car. How does the colour change with brake dust?
 
Great looking wheels now you can actually see the detail in them.

haha Cheers bud, a man of taste as well then 😄, your from the other forum right? your plate is GRY on the end if I remember rightly?, the gold recolour (scooby BBS gold inspired) happened after an unfortunate kerbing incident when they were black, very happy with them though.
 
Yeah that’s right mate from other forum AK10GRY only recently discovered this forum haha. The gold really suits the black, how much did refurb cost you?

fair, had to abandon the old place like a few other folk, I usually browse on mobile and the ads since the other place was sold off were annoying the shit outta me tbh 😄

£440 for all 4, a few other places quoted abit cheaper but they were local and had a decent rep.

Simoniz VHT Matt Black, masking tape and some white bin liners I had at home.

I just cut them down the side to make one big flat sheet and used a few of them overlapping to protect body work, exhaust ect. from overspray, did 4 light coats about 20 minutes between each.
 
no bother, good luck!.. turned out better than I thought for a first attempt tbh, but I just thought if it goes wrong, can always just remove the paint, polish and try again, not the end of the world,

also just noticed you've gone gold alloys as well, great choice if I do say so :D
