FML

Streaming stick decided to turn itself into a 'brick' today and just sit on an Android Recovery Screen. Absolutely no way to interface with it whatsoever. No dodgy 'free' TV movies for me over Xmas then. FML. :mad:
 
Completely locked out of my Apple account due to my own stupidity 🤯 ..
The account was set up with 2x hardware security keys (Yubikey) as 2FA. Sometime in the past I must have rebuilt both Yubikey from scratch before I'd removed them from my AppleID. N00b error! Yesterday I restored my iPhone from a BackUp and soon realised I couldn't get passed the 2FA requirement to download any Apps from the iCloud. Several hours chatting to Apple Support, the result being that they will not, as part of their T&Cs, assist in the deleting of a 'locked' account. So now I couldn't create a new Apple ID with my own phone number as it was tied to my now inaccessible account!

Problem solved with a £5 p/m eSIM from Lyca Mobile, albeit with the loss of previous iTunes purchases, which tbh weren't many as I mostly buy CDs (to convert) and not electronic stuff. Lesson learned though; use Security Keys wisely!

On a positive note, Man-Maffz tells me I saved £1k today by not buying a new phone and it'll take 16 years of monthly payments to Lyca Mobile to equal that cost. Wifey didn't see it in the same light for some reason? 🤔
