Well that has to work of course. I have it all, solar and large home battery at home, fastchargers 5min away, free charging at work and really lots of fast chargers along all my regular routes...

A review with an unusual comparison by Vicky Parrot that apparently has lived with a 5 N a bit longer. And I find she is very accurate in her appraisal which isn't faint at all.
And I also unfortunately know many people will not even read the article and if they did, they wouldn't be able to understand how it could be remotely true, just too many prejudices...

Still not selling the GR though.
I get it, it goes like stink. Its a very good driver car that can double as a shopping trolley/family run-about.
I don't have solar or a battery so it would be off peak. Fast chargers are too expensive, no point it I can't save money. Theres 4 in the local area.
Theres simply not enough Infrastructure. Its not Range anxiety now its Charge anxiety.
I want/need a manual transmission.

1) you are in a thread about this car
2) I am a car enthusiast so I like sharing my enthusiasm
3) You can't deny there are many prejudices going against this car choice. The GR Yaris had some of that in the beginning, 'pensioners car', 'what only 3 cylinders' and to this day certain parts of the car scene wouldn't want to be seen even within an 20m radius of one, in case their cool persona is reflected on a image also containing a Yaris.
What can I say, I have thing for underdogs, well not really just turns out that way, and I like talking about them.
Thanks. I do get annoyed when people who should don't get a great car.

In a thread about this car and I don't understand why I should be reading about your perception of the prejudices that may or may not afflict other readers. Surely that makes this thread about something else?
If you feel my general comment strikes your cord, that's on you. 9,5 out of 10 commenting the autocar article on social media are spewing prejudice and have very obviously not bothered reading the article. My observation is entirely justified.
How about you actually commenting the car, based on actual experience of it. "I drove it, I didn't like it because I prefer this and that etc. ". Or even "I haven't driven it, can people that have tell me how it actually does this ans that..". Etc. That would take us forward.

In discussion elsewhere, I realised and share here too my 'notes' and aha self-insights:

So yes, I find it worth talking/posting about this major mind shifting experience, Conceptually this is much more than just a good car in a series of many, it has been a game changer on many levels for me.

I've posted elsewhere about my recent increase to massive annual mileage, and I'm not going to lie I have begun considering whether the 5N is a viable option...
I am intrigued by it, and I think Hyundai and its people deserve respect for the effort they have put into it, whether you like it or not.
The tech and much of the good stuff is surely going to filter down to smaller, lighter, cheaper alternatives over the coming years so this can only be a good thing.

It doesn't have the greatest range, but what proper performance car has? Almost doing 3x the mileage with this one compared to any previous fun car, and not needing to warm an engine, this thing puts a smile on my face roughly 4x more often! More shared fun with passengers too. When charging out, I've learned to default 10-60% that goes in 10min, can extend that charge of I'm at peace and can do something else like eat or take an important call. Winter time, battery conditioning (on app or in car) before a long drive extends range usefully.
You can get one for 50k in UK. Sure it will depreciate but if putting major mileage on, what performance car won't? And charging at home running cost are rediculously low, my insurance is too for a 640bhp car. Only tires cost are significant, I hacked that one by running 255 20" which for some reason are a lot cheaper, and this car remains very civilised despite running AD09 and now A052.
Only fun spoiler are 12V issues and still some percentage facing ICCU issues -like every platform there is something. I disabled keyless opening and digital phone key (but on the phone as backup) and reduce charging current to reduce heat as it will charge overnight anyway, no issues so far (20k miles). Once Na-ion 12V become available will get one of those, should hold charge a lot better incl winter.

This car is an oddity. It doesn't appeal to regular EV drivers. It doesn't appeal to literal petrolheads. It appeals to hardcore driver enthusiasts that are also otherwise not averse to EVs, but I think most don't realise those two venn diagrams do properly overlap in exactly the 5 N...
Anyway, here are some perhaps unexpected comparisons. The point is not to say one car is best, rather to try to convey what the 5 N actually does....

Yep, it's pretty good but just the beginning, even if many will think these Porsche guys are delusional before opening up their own views

Still a few rally fans reading along here I hope. Most 5 N are modified with a track focus and the almost mandatory lowering.
I don't want that and I've been thinking about custom wheels with a rally vibe. Still want it to be relatively discrete, a family daily car.
With that background, how does this AI render look like, and would I dare selling the OE wheels for it (so if I ever sell, I'm kinda looking here if others would appreciate it too...)
