That looks amazing, especially with the yellow fog lights! Have been on the fence regarding the TRD lip for a red car as most pictures I can find have modded wheels or are lowered, but this has me convinced. Time to add it to my long list of things to do (when I have time and money 🫠)

Thank you! I’m not keen on lowering mine as enjoy not having to clench my teeth at every speed hump or car park ramp and so far no scrapes but definitely makes the front look wider and more aggressive looking in my opinion. The yellow fogs are just covers and I’ve just bought myself some Laminex Prius sized film actually but ideally I’ll fit some proper amber lights when I eventually get round to upgrading the intercooler. The feeble horn as well.
 
Couple changes this past weekend - couldn't be happier !

  • Airtec open intake installed (couldn't be happier with the sound !)
  • Sprayed the intercooler (because us Gen1 owners don't want to be left out lol)
  • Had the Hardrace strut bar cerakoted in black (not shown in image, but really ties the bay together)
As I always mention in my posts, aftermarket parts aren't readily available in South Africa - so fitting stuff like this really gets me excited !

A tentative link, but I drove mine to Prodrive in Banbury this morning to do the factory tour. No photos allowed as it’s an active factory but highly recommend booking it if you’ve got any interest in motorsport, which I imagine loads of people on here have.

Got to see some of the heritage collection (3x McRae Subarus) plus a 6R4, Dave Richards’ championship winning Mk2 Escort and a Rally spec 911 in the reception area.

We also saw them building the Dakar cars, some engines being tested on the dynos, machining of parts and lots of prepping of the WEC and British GT Aston Martins.

I love watching GT racing but equally rallying was my first motorsport interest, so it was great to have a mix of different categories in the one place. The tour guides were great and the guy for the second half had been at Le Mans most years and worked across all aspects of the race teams.

For £45 all in and 3.5 hrs of asking all sorts of questions and seeing loads of stuff, it was hard to beat. Only downside is the fact that they only run on Wednesdays and Fridays (while not a problem for me given that I’m between jobs, I’d still say it was worth using holiday for).

Hi Kiara, good job ! Did you make the stencil yourself to spray the intercooler ?
If yes, could you share the scale or the how to please ?
If not, where did you find it please ?
I've been thinking about doing the same for months, but haven't found anything suitable to a correct job...

Pistonheads held a Sunday service there in 2017. Well worth a day out and wasn’t aware they now do tours.

I got the stencil made at any old printing shop - it's just a vinyl sticker cut out.
For the correct size, I followed this GR Corolla thread (there is a 2 page PDF, that when printed, provides a life size logo).

I think this is the courtesy car choice of Toyota, I had one of these when mine went in for warranty work. More importantly lets hope they do a top job on your roof
 
Technically its not mine and i did nothing to it (yet), but I booked a rental GR Yaris when we are in Japan, in October. We have it for four days to explore the mountains in Gunma. Some destinations on our list are Mount Haruna, D'z Racing cafe garage, Ikaho Toy, Doll and Car museum and further north the craft village Sukawa.
If you have any tips for this region or Japan in general, I'd really appreciate it.
