Interesting to see they have turned the Hydrogen project into a Rally2 car.
the safety cages are so strong nowadays don't see that being a big issue. but of course everything is possible. Not sure I'd like to go on a stage with a bomb on my back ...
I’m feeling a bit nervous staying at a hotel next to Rally Finland Service park all of a sudden. Not sure I'd like to go on a stage with a bomb on my back ...
It could prove that it is not that good of an idea though. Would allow to switch ressources to proper project next !Absolute waste of time
If it catch fire and meet the atmosphere all that will be left is the cage indeed ... There's so many risks when it comes to Hydrogen storage that I don't really get how it can be a good idea to have some in a rally car. Any bad crash and you are going to be blasted or burn...the safety cages are so strong nowadays don't see that being a big issue. but of course everything is possible.
Actually I don't agree.Absolute waste of time
You are sure right about this, but the same has been told in the past about BEVs.Unfortunately, physics and economics have already conferred on the topic and deduced that hydrogen for personal transport is basically a dead-end. No amount of technology research or wishful thinking is ever going to change the fundamentals.
And that’s for FCVs, HICE is even even less viable.
Toyota, BMW et al were quite happy to hoover up all the grant money while it was on offer, but now that’s pretty much dried up….![]()
