GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

They previously tested them on the current GRMN prototype but they never made it to production.View attachment 33253

The Mk2 GRMN prototype didn’t run them in testing

I noticed that before on the mk1, i thought they may have been vents instead of hood vents, there’s a lot of air going into the engine bay which i believe does cause the front to lift and for the extraction some of heat.
Looking at the pic of the mk2 there’s a lot of coolers on that front end..

Does anyone know whether the MK1 handbrake feature, that gets the rear axle disconnected, exists in MK2? I have just played around with the handbreak in the new car and did not seem like it's there..
I have wondered this also, although not had chance to try it. I know for sure the AT does as there’s a couple videos on YouTube of people using it but not heard it mentioned about the MT just assumed it would be the same as the Mk1.

An update to my front grill replacement it turns out that the wrong part was ordered and I had a very apologetic parts team call me this morning. It turns out that the piece of bumper that I need is around the £400 mark like the European spec one.

Bad news for anyone that damages their car in the future is that the mesh grill on the lower part of the bumper is what cost £800!!

The rally1 cars at the Monte Carlo testing have been running the Gen2 rear light bar.

That will confuse the “it’s not homologated” crowd.

Unfortunately not, UK cars don’t have parking sensors and looks like European cars do however the new part is quick to arrive and should be with me tomorrow. Thanks for helping though.

That is weird because I looked up the part from your VIN, and I checked our correspondence again, the part code for mine differed and ended in 20 and i think yours ended in 10

I’ve just realised the image I’ve been sent to check the part is identical to what you sent me - showing with parking sensors in. The part is meant to arrive tomorrow but I’ve just contacted them to confirm if we’re about to get the same part back! If it keeps up like this I might ask the dealer to give me there bumper trim until we can get to the bottom of it.

To summarize, like mine with sensors is 53102-52420
Yours without sensors, should be 53102-52410

I just double checked the catalogue again, yours, without extra holes has the code 53102-52410
And again checked by VIN

From 2025, TGR and ROOKIE Racing intend to compete in the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie(NLS) and the Super Taikyu Series as a united “TOYOTA GAZOO ROOKIE Racing (TGRR)”. The new team plans to mark Toyota’s return to the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race after a six-year hiatus, entering with the evolved GR Yaris, which made its world debut at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 and is equipped with the newly developed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission. In 2024, numerous drivers, including Morizo and professional drivers, worked to prepare their Nürburgring entry vehicle by test-driving the GR Yaris on various roads both in Japan and abroad, including those of the Nürburgring circuit. The team seeks to hone its people and cars at the Nürburgring, the starting place of Morizo and TGR.

The GR YARIS Aero Package is a concept vehicle equipped with performance aerodynamic parts that have been developed together with professional drivers through an uncompromising approach to achieving targeted performance by addressing every single issue encountered during racing and circuit evaluations. The vehicle features six such parts, including a variable rear wing with a situation-responsive adjustable angle, and not only pursues enhanced aerodynamic performance and handling stability but also exerts an eye-catching presence in terms of styling. It also has a vertical handbrake, which is available as a popular factory-installed option for the RC trim level of the evolved GR Yaris released last year.

To further explore the potential of the GR Yaris, TGRR plans to compete in the Super Taikyu Series in the GR YARIS M Concept, which features an underdevelopment, midship-mounted, 2.0-liter, inline 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine. The team aims to implement “driver-first” carmaking, in which cars are repeatedly driven to failure and then repaired in the extreme conditions of racing and in which feedback from Morizo, professional drivers, and gentleman drivers is thoroughly incorporated.
