Nav on my CarPlay is terribly unreliable. I’ve tried multiple leads, both Apple OEM and aftermarket. I’ve even tried a wireless dongle with no success. I did wonder if it was the phone (iPhone 15 pro), but it works fine in the other cars both wired and wireless. Any ideas as it’s driving me crackers….

Have you tried factory resetting the head unit? With AndroidAutoe Every month or so my will go crazy and just keep connecting and disconnecting over and over. Resetting the head unit always cures it for me.

Okay, I might try. Which version as there are a few on Amazon?
I have the 5.0 in d’86 and a Jimny

BTW in other cars I have found the USB-USC cable is worth upgrading - may be my imagination but I get the impression that its the weakest link in the tech

It’s also worth going into the CarLinkit settings through the iPhone’s Safari Browser and adjusting the settings.

open your browser and visit 192.168.50.2 to access the background settings

Adjust the start delay from 1 to 3

If this doesn’t work, try adjusting the Wi-Fi settings

Thanks I appreciate this. I’ve just ordered the CarLink so will give it a go. I’m not at all technical, but I’ll try to give this suggestion a go as well 👍

Added to the list, thanks!

I run the CarLinkIT 5.0 - had no issues with an iPhone 15 Pro.
It seems that it only works with the usb cable it came with or the Apple OEM - maybe it need to be a high quality one. Either way it’s a bit of a squash to fit it in sideways due to the end of the cable being quite ridged. How did you mount yours?

Sits outside the armrest in between the transmission tunnel and seat. I don’t close the lid of the cupholder.

Made an armrest from a black foam yoga block to protect the usb sockets and wires.

Works great.

I mounted my Carlinkit with 3M tape to the front of the housing, using a short 90degree USB cable for connectivity. It means it can be hidden away with the compartment closed. Haven't had any issues to date. (Photo linked from my 'Members cars' thread).
