GR86 Electric Blue #2

I'm not familiar with it scooter rules, do you know what makes them illegal here?
The problem is they are classed as a motor vehicle but you can't mot, tax or insure them.

Same as a quad bike, if you buy a quad with a number plate, fine, no number plate, illegal on the road.

We need to update our rules as you've been able to buy e scooters for years.

All e scooters other than the scheme one’s in certain cities are illegal.

At a guess-

No pedalling, so not an E bike.
Only one brake handle.

PVGR- just be careful, technically they can throw 6 points at you for no insurance and 3 points for unauthorised use on a road.

Yeah I did see that thanks, kinda banking on my ability to not drive it like d**k and police being sensible if they do pull me over.

It's been a while so did the speaker upgrade today and this:

Beatrush brace from Fensport. Not tried it yet, will report back.
Did it as although I think the brakes work fine they feel a bit dull to me. Install in existing holes, but fiddly and every bolt and nut is a different size but got it done.

I still have one I need to sell on since I did brace instead with one included. It definitely makes a difference, pedal more consistent when pushing on.

Give us a nudge if you do. I was interested in these for the GT86, I thought it might be one of those nice, easy mods which just makes a bit of an improvement...but I never got around to it, I think at the time I decided that the improvment wasn't worth the outlay. Second hand one would be more appealing ;)

Just sold one from my GT86 that probably would have fit. Made absolutely zero difference, I think if you are driving hard on track it would show it's worth but for street work it's pointless.

I've never fitted mine so it's as new but is opened. I decided to go for strut brace instead with one and it does make a difference, especially if you have our roads to play on. It's not night an day but it's designed to reduce flex when you push the pedal which it does. Bolts through a hole on the strut tower. Maybe lucky not needing to even take the wheel off.

Reasonable service today at Jemca Bracknell;
They had a filter!
Ordered missing bungs
Logged my rusty calipers with Toyota, awaiting feedback
And denied my rear lights were rubbing, suggested I should remove them to prove it 🤷‍♂️
Got a hateful CHR for the day.

All in all, decent, thanks.

A CHR is a dream compared to the Captur my wife bought

It looks cool, hybrid tech is decent, but I hate the elevated driving position, like sitting on a marshmellow and constant bings and bongs!
