Combined with a 90-degree adapter they work really well and are nice and tidy.

That's very neat. I never thought to use a 90° adapter when I installed mine, I think my wireless CarPlay thingy even came with one 🫣

A few weeks in and it works perfectly though, and in conjuction with the magsafe mount it is fire-and-forget. Very happy with it.

Edit: I figured out why I didn't use the 90° adapter I got with it - It's a 90° with a half twist!

I bought a similar adapter, but had an issue that I was unable to adjust the volume using either the knob on the screen, or the steering wheel buttons. Have you had that problem? If not, I’ll order the same one that you have and see if that works better.

haven't noted any issues so should be issue free. I'm using iphone to connect.

So, less than 6 months from installing my second AA/Carplay adapter, I've swapped to the latest square low-profile version.

Much neater, and I think I'll stop fiddling now

Thanks for heads up, I just searched aliexpress and spotted one of the new low profile square ones. Just placed an order for one. 👍
