Interesting that they think the value of the GT has bottomed out already. That bodes well for our cars which are already holding their value well. With the current depreciation, the GR is looking to surpass my previous car (type R) as the cheapest car I've ever owned, when comparing purchase price Vs resale price.
I have quite a strange use case with my car, in that I have a work van so It's not a daily and family trips are done in my wife's car. The 86 is used for trips away on my own and any personal errands, as well as charging around the countryside when I fancy it. Typically around 4/5k per year. I wonder how a car from the 80s would fill this brief.
I suspect I would find it to be a bit too slow. Sure it would be plenty of power for throwing around on narrow, empty roads, but in my experience, If you don't have enough power to overtake (sometimes 2 cars in a row) when the opportunity presents itself, time on fun roads is spent following slow moving traffic that decides they want to suddenly accelerate when the road opens up, thus blocking an overtake. I'd sure like to have a go in one though.
