GR Yaris Waiting list update email

Not sure if anyone else has had the same, but (I think) because I'm on the virtual waiting list, I received an update email from Toyota this week.

Not telling me anything about availability or anything like that, but just simply...

Yes in the same boat as you (metaphorically that is - hopefully there will be a time where in reality we are literally in the same boat!!)
Anyway good news on two accounts......
a) Hopefully the interest the GR86 has generated, with the order book opening on Monday and first deliveries due in July, it may give people second thoughts about their order for the GRY (and affect their residual values if the demand for used ones subsides?!).
b) I am due on Monday to test drive a GRY demo at my local dealer. Apparently Toyota UK have not told them to sell off their demos yet so my & the Dealer's take on that is the order book will re open hopefully in the near future.

How did the test drive go? My local dealer reckons they are getting one in later this week so I’m going to pop over for a look.
