I recently installed a Viofo A229 Pro (front and rear) dash cam using a wiring adapter from Hachi Electronics in the US.

The adapter utilises the ASC plug in the side of the glovebox for power with two cable options: one with ASC delete and one with pass-through. I opted for pass-through as I like my cabling neat and like the option to turn it on/off via the OBD port.

With our rainy season it took a few weeks to find a dry afternoon. A friend and I went to work and found it an absolute doddle to wire everything neat and tidy. We started with the headliner, ran down behind the passenger pillar into the side of the glovebox, then back to the rear. Hardest part was disconnecting the ASC and plugging everything all in in such a small spot.
The Viofo A229 Pro is excellent quality, especially with polarising lenses front and rear. I also opted for their remote control which sits in the door card to save any recordings and take snapshots of scenic roads or anything of interest.

We also connected the Viofo voltage cut-off so both cameras are operating in parking mode with ignition off. IIRC we set it to cut off if battery voltage dips below 12.4V.

Just thought I'd offer this write-up as the ASC adapter made powering the dashcam as painless as could be.

I've got my A229 Pro hardwired into the fuse box but I'll definitely be looking at using the Hachi harness if I ever upgrade it in the future. I've also got the Bluetooth button in the same place! I must press it two or three times every day đŸ˜‚

Been thinking of doing this, did you buy just the harness from him and the dash cam elsewhere or the bundle with the A229? Seems to be cheaper when bundled but obviously going to be an issue if you need to use the warranty.
