GR Yaris Upgrading from Dunlop Sport Maxx to Pilot Sports 5?

I'm thinking of upgrading from my stock convenience pack tyres as I find it a bit too loud for my liking. Not an awful of life left in them after 17k and i just potter around town and don't do much with the car. Thoughts on the Pilot Sports 5? Anyone care to write a short review wrt driving feel, comfort, road noise/NVH etc?

I am also thinking of getting 235 instead of 225, i think it would fit the stock Enkeis a bit better than the dunlops?
 
Guessing you’ve not looked at the spec of the Michelin vs Dunlop. If you think the Dunlops are noisy the Michelins are slightly louder and this will be reflected in more performance orientated tyres.
 
I have done 33 k km in my Aus Rallye version . I drove 20k around the big Island in 4 weeks driving on a set of Dunlops which were totally knackered. Bitumen dirt sand grass rocks ( no snow) ! The other ks I have done have been on PS4s and Dunlop Direzza 3 for track runs and a fair bit on road . The reality is that for road use you will not notice any difference in the Dunlop mAx or Michelin both are fine we t dry whatever . Fancy set ! I did a few quick circuit laps on the
Michelins and they were great but the wear rate looked excessive. The other point I would make is the Torsen diffs in road use are un noticeable unless in dire circumstances .
It really is an amazing vehicle .
 
Some general comments on the subject:
- worn tyres are louder then new ones, a slow process so new tyres may seem like the best buy ever ;)
- labeled sound levels are usually external, which isn't necessarily the same as how loud tyres are inside the car
- Tyre roar inside varies widely depending on the type of road, can be misleading to compare reviews especially from other countries
- Michelin are generally good also when worn as they focus on that too, and relatively quiet tyres, and a PS5 is quite comfort oriented for a sports tyre so might fit you well.
- I know a few that chose the Sportmaxx RT2 as a quiet tyre inside the car, but different cars and different country, YMMV
