So having brought the car a couple of weeks ago I wanted to get the underside checked, cleaned, detailed and professionally protected. So I took it to Veis Automotive, Jordan did a great job that ended up taking a full day it’s the 3rd GR he has done so knows his way around these cars.
Glad to report no issues after 8000 UK road miles and a couple of track days. One spot of surface rust (3rd pic) that’s now cleaned treated and protected. Nice to know these cars are still in good shape after a couple of British winters.
The underside protection includes taking any components off of the bottom of the car that can be safely remove, plastic undertrays, wheel arch liners, etc. Jodan also removed the exhaust to avoid any overspray smog from the sealer. The underside is then pressure washed and cleaned, before drying it off with towels and compressed air, then application of the 3M schutz underseal including any cavities.
Couple of before and after shots…smells a bit weird hopefully fades quickly. One bonus is that being rubber based it has reduced the road noise somewhat.
