To try to answer your question, I used a cusco front towing eye and have it permanently installed minus the red eye which is removeable. This leaves around 10mm protruding through the difficult to remove front cover. I have this covered with a cheap black chair leg rubber for normal road use. This means fitting the eye is super easy with no fiddly cover removal. To make the hole I determined the intersection point which was with the fitting instructions, drilled a hole and opened up with a dremel until the chair rubber fitted over the bolt and through the hole. I used a bit of white tape and a pencil to outline the hole for cutting. Hope that helps.what drill bit is recommeded for front? just realised I need to add hooks for TimeAttack

I've done the same, but mine is in stealth mode with matt black tape so it doesn't catch the eye of the pit exit marshalAs Banzai says you'll need a dremel to open the hole to the right size, a large drill bit would be no good on the plastic.
Before I cut a hole in the tow hook cover I just removed it and fitted the supplied tow hook which was fine for events. I now use the standard hook (painted) and modified cover.
