How is the pad life? I get two days out of EBC RP-X pads with OEM calipers and HRNSHN cooling ducts, which adds up pretty quickly, and they’re supposed to be pretty good for longevity. I imagine bigger pads go a lot longer?EDIT : I am now using Pagid RST3, the pedal is not as hard as RSL1, no wooden effect and modulation is better.
I guess AP racing calipers + RSL1 are too much for the Yaris.
But AP racing calipers + RST3 (or others to discover) is a lot better.
That would be a helluva price for a pair, and Endless aren’t exactly known for being wallet-friendly…Almost identical weight to the OEM disc is that price not a pair rather than each?
The yen price is £250 a disc (understand there’s import costs and the like) but the whole point of these discs was to be cheap. That would be a helluva price for a pair, and Endless aren’t exactly known for being wallet-friendly…
well 500€ for endless disc is not bad IMHO. and if you add freight and taxes there it can be close to500€. In germany they were in discount at one brake shop for 450€.The yen price is £250 a disc (understand there’s import costs and the like) but the whole point of these discs was to be cheap.
I don't really know yet, I didn't use the car on racetrack for a long time. How is the pad life? I get two days out of EBC RP-X pads with OEM calipers and HRNSHN cooling ducts, which adds up pretty quickly, and they’re supposed to be pretty good for longevity. I imagine bigger pads go a lot longer?
How did you manage to damage TC-105X?I drove too fast on a too high curb on a racetrack.
I don't recommend TC105X for driving the car on racetracks, they are too fragile.
So I bought Rays ZE40. Forged.
Try with some added brake cooling if you already haven't done that. HRNSHN has a kit or build your own from Audi RS3 parts. It was interesting to read. I recently faced limits of stock brakes heat management as well. There is one circuit (Monteblanco) which is especially hard on brakes as very short time is passing between multiple intensive braking zones during the lap. I curved oem front disks there at a hot track day in 2022 (38 degrees air temp). But this month in the chill 10-16 weather got fluid boiled after two consecutive hotlaps. So started to think which options can give me more confidence with consistent brakings as engine cooling is good now and allow to push until fuel is out.
My current setup regarding brakes is:
DBA 5000 T3 rotors
PBS procomp brake pads (used in spanish TCR) and titanium shims.
Braided lines with Motul RBF700 with 4th track day since december.
A052 235 tyres.
