No I’m not talking about Claudia Winkleman’s latest hairdo, but this time in August when it seems the whole world turns up in Edinburgh to put on a show, or do random stuff in the streets.
Normally I avoid the City the plague during ‘Fringe’ as it gets claustrophobic, however tomorrow I’m gonna put on my brave pants and head in to see Nina Conti and her ‘Who’s face is it anyway’ show. It’ll be worth the £12 ticket price if only for the chance that her monkey makes an appearance …

I’ve just got back from the fringe, have been up there for a week and round the corner was another red GRY and then in Leith on Saturday spotted another.

Despite being holidays it was notably busier on the Saturday and Sunday as I guess those who live and work more locally venture out.

John Robertson was good if you like high energy
Accordion guy was a good sing along
Jaffa cake the musical was funny
Laser Kiwi return of the olive was probably the best show I saw.

I also passed Jimmy Carr in the street and Julian Clarey, Paul Merton and Suki Webster sat next to us at one of the pop up bars was nice to see people just leaving them alone to enjoy the event (in between performing).

Seem to be spending more time in Scotland than England at the moment! Dunnon for the Cowal Highland Gathering next 31st August. Still haven't got a kilt yet either.

(Daughter competes in the Heavy events - not me)
