unfortunately brodit has only for gen1 a perfect solution.Do Brodit do a good holder for the Gen 2 yet I wonder?![]()
Give them a google search, they are great!![]()
It's crazy that car manufacturers still aren't considering at least a basic mounting option as something they need to provide, as they do with cupholders, sunglasses clips etc.
They should really get together an devise a common slot or fixture to which various mounts and holders could be connected securely to, à la Isofix. That way there is an easy way to attach any device, and there would be at least some consideration for where it is sited so it doesn't block controls, screens, or vents.
For you gen 2 owners, I'd just be tempted to bend a bit of aluminium or 3D print a plate to orientate the phone at the right angle, attach a Magsafe charging base (or the Android equivalent) to the holder and the then stick that to the side of the dash, all using 3M Command strips so it is easily removeable.
Of course, nevertheless I want my Smartphone in front of me in accessable holder. Not in the pocket or in a car case/box.Do you guys not use Android Auto/Apple Car Play?
